Then why is it you are more likely to be assaulted, murdered or raped in the US than you are in the UK?

More poverty?

Oh snap.

Its one possibility - do you have stats, or are you just seeing if the mud will stick?

Even if poverty is greater in the US than in the UK (is it?), is it proportionally greater to the extent that despite the presence of millions of firearms for defence, one is still more likely to be raped/assaulted/murdered? I would guess that it isn't.
Oh snap.

Oh look. It is another person who seems to believe guns cause crime.

UK has a massive gun problem. Just ask them...

Who said that Jeffy?

What a bizzare video...
Anyway, if 50 odd shootings a year is a "massive problem", what adjective do you apply to describe the number in the US?
The original point was that guns supposedly keep people safe and defend them from crime. But why are you more likely to be raped/assaulted/murdered in the US than in the UK when you have all those guns?

It doesn't matter how many videos about murders in the UK, or how many newspaper articles about murders in the UK that you post. You are still more likely to be the victim of one in the US, despite all the guns.

maybe it is like this blinky... if the so called beneveolent government would just kill these nut cases off the fear of what is going to happen would make an imprint... but no these dirtbags have more rights than the victim... our so called wonderful society is always making excuses for them and trying to justify their obsene behavior.... and in many cases blaming the victims of the crimes... seems to happen quite abit lately...

but if we were to just convict them and hang them till they were dead...wanna bet that alot of this crappola would cease.... trouble is they know that they are not going to be hanged or even gotten rid of...they know the fools for tax payers here are going to coddle and care for them for the rest of their lives...and why should they care..... they simply don't care and that is the problem....

Certain states already have the death penalty yet the crimes it is reserved for still occur.

death penalty is not enforced in many of the states you are referring to...and it never will be.....

Even in the states where it is enforced, the crimes continue to occur.

simple blinky... it does not deter them because it is not harsh enough.... hang them by the neck till dead.... that strikes fear, and not the candy ass way out that is often presented by the civil liberty groups that want these animals to have more rights than their victims...

hell blinky...if no one in the states in question want to get rid of them...i would take the job of yanking the lever...and I mean it...

I'm afraid you might be wasting your time with him on this one Blinky.
This is the same person who says that stricter gun laws won't work in spite of empirical evidence to the contrary while using emotional cliches as reasons. Now, he flips and opts to argue that the death penalty should be expanded......why? ...... because of emotional cliches that again don't rely on empirical evidence. He believes in expanding some laws that might very well be unconstitutional and has no proof that they actually work, while being against other constitutional laws that have evidence that they do work. The only thing consistent in his arguments are that he relies on his emotions rather than empirical evidence to shape his positions.

listen.... I really doubt that you even understand deterents in any manner... look at other nations that have the death penalty and actively enforce it... do they have the same high types of crime.... nope...

stay with your tree hugging liberal friends you might last longer in a world going apart at the seams.... when it does guess what morons go out first... those that run around with their heads in that dark place.... those that seem to think that all the criminals are misunderstood and being treated badly for their behavior..... people like that make me sick....

sounds like people I know but never want to meet
