apropos New Era.
What's with the elections in Hong Kong? I read yesterday that from the 60 seats available only 30 are to be elected and those may most likely or entirely go to non-communist parties. I understand the other 30 are reserved for ruling party members.
Is that seen as a step to Chinese democracy (although severely flawed) or do people resent this entirely? What's the view (or coverage) about this in the rest of China? AFAIK people in Hong Kong are not too happy with the kind of influence Beijing is trying to take. |

ahhh...yeah...hongkong...well :!oops: they've taken a bit of a slide in terms of real poitical freedoms, but that's considering that until 1997 they were ruled by one of the most democratic counrties on earth...well going from the brits to beijing one would expect nothing less, BUT...the fact that Hu is in power now...AND that Hu comes from neither the communist or ultra-nationalist factions of Chinese politics is really, really good news.
Course this is all Deng-xiao-ping's doing...amazing man, he effects Chinese politics from beyond the grave...spooky huh? buit very Chinese :-D |

Will this naming Hu "ruler-in-chief" be a sign that can influence the elections in Hong Kong? (Maybe it's just me, but I don't really feel like you answered my question... What's up with you Eynon? :snoot: :-D )

Not so spooky. I think. There was a great Newsweek article about him when he "left politics". At the time they were praising him like sliced bread and already predicting that his legacy will be there to stay for a loooooong time.
From the few things I can remember of his politics he was absolutely exceptional. |

if you find what you read are full of prejudice and wrong information one day.....
what will the world change into when you find this fact suddenly?
I know you can't understand what I mean, yours world just is changing ....
for some reason ,you can't aquired these information.
but one day ,you'll remember that someone have tell you something.
BTW: no ruling parties in hongkong parliament , no commulist party in it.
if you think that there is a ruling party in parliament or another name ,

I already know about this fact, that's why I'm asking questions.

Hey I have no problem whatsoever with learning something new. And if the world is changing, I'd say that's great for the world, or isn't it?

I think you misunderstood me a little. I meant the Chinese "ruling party", which afaik is the Communist Party, according to the latest info I have available. Or does Hu in the meantime qualify for a one-man-party?
If they are not in the HongKong administration or whatever you like to call it, ok.
I'm very happy that I managed to succeed in intercultural humor, however I'd be even more happy if someone gave me an interculturally understandable answers to my questions. Maybe the guys in the Chinese forum's humor section can do it?
Sorry to repeat myself, but I stated somewhere else in this forum that I ain't too good at mind-reading. :-D |

the answer is "no ruling party" in HONGKONG , communist party is not HONGKONG's administration NOW (1997+50=2047, in year 2047 ,if communist party is still China's govern party, it will recover its administration)
It sounds ridiculous, I know ,it is "one country ,two system"
from Western's viewpoint ,it's a dream.
but it does.
and I don't want to tell you why, for it's Chinese little secret. sorry.
SO the story of HU is the same ,I personally trust him. no TV debation, no Poll and vote, if he was not a president or chairman, he was only a common peasant, when I see him ,I know he will be our king. I won't affect other Chinese people's thoughts ,just trust him by myself.(but surprisingly, I always affect others surrounding me, even I don't know why. I tell them my thoughts in Chinese forums, They follows me, I hate the phenomenon :P )
another ridiculous barbarian joke? but for me ,it's true.
SOME OF Chinese don't judge someone by article ,experts, party, TV, face, research ,rumor....just by something inner .
I don't care whatever you think about me, maybe a spy? maybe a red brain-washer? or maybe a media-controller?
I just know I am not professional in English and Political debating. so I just oberserve your modern Western culture.
find your culture's weakness ,learn your culture's virtue.
these knowledge will be taught to our children, told to our friends.
it's a instinct, even I am strange at my curiosity and taste.
Last word explain my mind-reading: democracy is a spirit of literae humaniores , not a system of voting ,not a law of Politics. it can't be replaced by system and law. it can't be born without freedom and caritas.
without the basic of caritas or kindness and freedom , it only a vote-maching or automat
I hate human freedom and fate are controlled by a maching.
I have read Victo Hugo's works for 3 years in my college bed-reading ,and I found the France genius is exactly the angel from Heaven. |
