Am I the only one here that feels that we have so very much let down the Black and White citizens of Zimbabwe, by allowing this corrupt despot destroy his nation and starve his people into oblivion for FOUR years or more?
His regime has had considerable media exposure in the last 4 years and to no avail.
The breadbasket of Africa has been ruined |

| What can we do? This landlocked nation is surrounded by sympathetic neighbours, so sanctions or military intervention are virtually impossible......... |

Yes, Britain once viewed this scum as a hero. Mugabe was actually knighted by the queen. Amazes me who the British will hop into bed with.
However, I do admire your opposition to this animal Councillor. You must have received some major slack from your countrymen for your stand? |

Why would he receive slack? It is clear to the most biased of people that Mugabe is an evil tyrant... |

Mugabe is a racist scumwad voice, not even the pinkest of the lefties you so despise view him with anything other than contempt. Peter Tatchell tried to make a 'citizens arrest' on him when he visited Britain and got beaten up by his bodyguards for his trouble.....
Once wonders whether you would have felt the same way towards the Apartheid regime in south africa 20 years ago though......... |

| He just kills any opposition and his "Hitler Youth" Style training camps brainwash the youth to root out dissent for his regime anyway. What needs to happen, is for him to be exposed to to the zimbabwe people, so they themselves can take him down. |

I know many leftists who defend Mugabe. A tyrant who was knighted once by the British monarch.

I would say that they handled things incorrectly. I would have given 30% of the south and southwest of Zuid Afrika to the Boers and alotted the rest of the country to the Bantu population. |

Well, I don't know who VOR has been speaking to in the UK but everyone I know regards Mugabe as the 'Black Hitler'.
Thunders can attest to my many years of slagging him off and can confirm that I did in fact advocate military action against his regime.
His knighthood should be revoked.

At the time of the Groot trek the interior of southafrica was depopulated to a large extent because of the Mfecane. The boere had to cross vast tracts of land and tame the wilderness to surive. The real problem came with gold and diamond mining in the 1800's. The british needed to have control over the black workforce and instituted seasonal labour that caused balack urbanisation etc. So when the time came to divide the pie who got what. No one was were they originally were anymore. Segregation was also institutionalised to such an extent the world over that apartheid seemed a logical thing to do to calm the vastly outnumbered white population. (I'm not saying it was the right thing to do cause it wasn't)
In all fairness all teh land should have gone to the khoisan people. They were killed by white and black.
So the question of to whom belongs the land is not so easy. In zimbabwe they sancitoned ian smith's governement and they still had a positive growth rate in their economy. All the infrastructure was put in palce by the white people. So to whom belongs the infrastructure. The saddest thing of all is that mugabe is killing his own people by refusing outside help. Even worse is that the South african special forces and Rhodesian SAS could have kille dhim many a time...
An interessting book is The selous scouts by Peter stiff. The security forces left it too long but heir pseudo terrorism worked brilliantly |
