Zakaev is betraying the Chechen Course!!!
He declared the formation of the National Salvation Council of ChRI on www.chechen.org and he was quick to name himself in charge of it. Fat life in Europe contributed into his mutating into “British gentlemen” nearly, that with the dainty hands unable to hold arms tight. He needed terror attacks and the Jihad warriors with one aim only - to attract attention abroad to his own personality. Zakaev failed to develop into a true political leader in the Chechen land. Now he is trying to reach the goal with the help of the British spies and on our blood!!! |

One thing I don't really understand.
Why will Russia not give Chechnya independence?
Why so adamant to hold onto Chechnya?
Any replies appreciated. |

I think Russia worries that if it gives independence to Chechnya then other parts of Russia will ask for independence (afterall Chechnya got it!). So being hard on Chechnya will be an example for others. |

Precisely. Islam has a tendency of expansion. :) Give them Chechnya, they will want Dagestan. Give them Dagestan, they will want Ingushetia. And that way all the way to Moscow's suburbs.
Yeah, I know, Zionist propaganda. |
