Quote: A foundation headed by Bill Clinton has negotiated a deal to make HIV/Aids treatment cheaper for children, the former US president has announced.
Mr Clinton outlined the deal in a speech at a children's hospital in the Indian capital, Delhi.

Under the deal, two Indian companies will supply 19 antiretroviral drugs and their cost will be reduced by 45%, a statement by the foundation says.

Well, hopefully this might make a bit of a difference. It'd be nice to see all the efforts (Amex Red / Clinton foundation etc). actually become a big force in stopping the spread of HIV, though there is still a long way to go.

I hope so. I've seen first hand what it HIV/AIDS does. Anything to make the drugs cheaper is OK by me.

Good first step, it's too bad they couldn't do it years ago before the disease had spread so far.

Maybe this will reduce suffering, won't reduce the rate of new infection.

True, but I'm thinking a step forward, is a step forward... like I say hopefully all the efforts will begin to snowball into something much larger.
