Remember when they controlled the congress and the presidency?

Remember when they all stood up with their purple fingers and arrogently proclaimed that democrats and naysayers were wrong, that they had succeeded?

It pissed me off then, and I hope they all feel really humbled now, just because they loved being right soooo much.

I'm Republican, and all of my candidates won (two of which were not GOP, by the way). Most people who think critically don't think of it that way.

Your mistake is equating politics with a sports team, like there's winning and losing for us. A greater % of Americans voted in this off-term election than in a very long time -- That's a win, whatever party (or no party) you belong to.

I really should have been more specific...I don't like that kind of arrogence on the part of any group of people. Taking no suggestions other than your own is doing the country a disservice.

Well that's a hell of a lot better than "Arrogant Republicans". I'll agree with THAT comment!

You used the word "republican" and "humble" in the same post?

:rotf:

Silly goose!

A wise man once said (I actually said it way more than once):

When everybody thinks alike, nobody actually thinks at all.

This admin is the ultimate proof of that.

He's a politician, and like most politicians of either persuasion will play whatever tune they think gets the vote out. I'm talking about regular citizen voters who buy into that line of thinking.

Is that the Patton quote you're referring to, or just a similar version to it?

If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking. George S. Patton

You're looking at the daily car bombs in Iraq and thinking it's a great opportunity to say you were right and those who celebrated 11 million Iraqis voting were wrong? Sick. That is just sick to look at the optimism over three successful elections, decry that optimism and then celebrate the bloodshed and chaos because it proves you right.

Talk about about someone who "loves being right soooo much."

Good for you. Now what's your point?

If you're just ranting, I have an easy button.

Perhaps the DLC will be more gracious with their new reality of power sharing within their own Caucus AND Congress. That is from the Arrogant Independent Conservative party of one. 8:)

I think his point is that he's gleeful over the carnage in Iraq because he loves being right soooo much.

Flame thread...

I don't know what's worse...the OP or the people in here adding to the flame and cheering it on...

How either side can claim partisanship of the other is beyond me...
