Thanks, it looks like that may be it. Several of the symptoms match well:
Falling sensation
Floating sensations
Involuntary movements
Vividness
Glad to be of assistance. This sort of thing happens to me quite frequently as well. Just the brain doing mad stuff to get ready for REM, I imagine.
While we're on the subject of sleep:

I've done this. It's really cool.
I've been trying to do that for a while. Is there a specific technique? I've only done it a few times by accident as a kid. |

If you wake up naturally, you'll be near REM. Once that happens, try to go back to sleep as quickly as you can. That's about as far as I can explain it, really. I try to do it on the weekend, when I can afford to go back to sleep (and when I've woken up naturally). |

Edit: I missed out that I try to shout out for help but my mouth won't move and a black shape seems to crawel up my body, its pretty f****d up I sometime hear voices calling me when im in that state.
when you wake up out of REM sleep too quickly it can cause this because during REM sleep you are completely paralyzed, it is interesting to also note that this is also when you dream, so when people talk in their sleep they are talking to a memory of a dream rather than one they are currently engaged in |

Actually when you wake up naturally you should be at sleep stage 1, REM being 7 |

Weird.
That is weird and slightly unnerving. |
