I get this vision of him appearing like Borat to them and they all sit looking at him like he's totally insane.

Jimmy Carter / Wolf Blitzer interveiw
Quote: I think that President Bush could still salvage out of Iraq a
conclusion that he could identify as victory if he would agree that this
international conference would come in and help Iraq and if there could
be an orderly withdrawal of American troops and Iraq could be sustained,
with the support of the rest of the world, as a viable democracy.
Then he could say, in retrospect, this was a success.
And I think that's what he would like to see as an ultimate indication of a victory.

BLITZER: If you were president right now, what would you do, given
the current situation as it exists on the ground?

CARTER: I would immediately convene an international conference and
let it be known -- which is not known now -- that America has no desire
to maintain a permanent military presence in Iraq. Almost every Arab
leader with whom I have discussed this issue in the last year or two
believe that the current plan is some day, 20 years from now, still to
have a military presence of the United States inside Iraq. I would make
that clear. And I would involved as many of the neighbors and other
leaders in the world along with us, not in the occupation of Iraq, but
in the orderly withdrawal from Iraq of American troops and a reassurance
to the Iraqi people that you can control your own affairs.

I'm not surprised Blitzer would consult former President Carter at this point in time. With no news worthy info coming from George, Wolf simply went to a reliable peacemaking president to try and get a concept of what this meeting might be about. Can you really imagine Jimmy Carter vs anything? The man won a Nobel peace prize.

Carter consistently comes in polls as one of the least popular presidents of the 20th century and for good reason - he was a spineless, ball-less sack of excrement when it came to dealing with the Iranians while they held our hostages for 444 days.

Carter winning the Nobel Peace Prize was like a slap in the face to America and a great leader like Reagan who realized that you have to negotiate from a position of strength and who used that position of strength to rid the world of more nuclear weapons than any other man in the history of the world. The nuclear reductions under Reagan made Carter's weak ass treaties a drop in the disarmament bucket by comparison.

Freaking Carter winning the Nobel Peace Prize. If you're going to give that prize to an appeaser like Carter, why don't you just rename it the Chamberlain Peace in Our Time Prize.

Wolf is a sheep. Carter could not appease himself out of a wet paper bag. Notice the day Reagan was sworn in, the Iranian hostages were released. Peace through strength, not prostitution.

It's a well known fact that Reagan's campaign team and supporters, William Casey, G.H.W. Bush, Robert McFarlane, Robert Gates, Donald Gregg and George Cave met with Iranian cleric Mehdi Karrubi in mid October 1980 to discuss delaying the hostage release until after the election promising arms and jet aircraft repair parts.

Who was spreading their butt cheeks during that deal? Saint Reagan and his unholy choir?
