| Kendo and Iaido. I got up to Sho-Dan but left for travelling and haven't gone back to it since (seeing as lessons are a freaking rip off). |

| I did Tae Kwon Do for a while... I'm grossly out of shape for that now, so I imagine that my fighting style would be somewhat like "throw your 250-lb frame around recklessly trying to crush people." |

Whilst you've got you're opponent pinned to the ground in an awesome chokehold, feeling rather impressed with yourself, what do you think his mates are going to be doing? (Hint: It's probably not standing back and admiring your style).
If there's one thing you should try and do it's stay on your feet, the ground is a very, very bad place to be, especially if there's more than one opponent to contend with.....
Why is it that you're always alone and being attacked by a group of thugs when you take martial arts? |

Yeah, most places that offer lessons are stupid. |

I don't go looking for a scuffle, but if one should arise I take the Conan approach.
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women. |

It's called training for the worst possible scenario....... |

| My style is whatever works. I use sticks, pipes, metal rods, cables, dirt, whatever it takes to win. Fighting is always a last resort however when all avenues of escape have been exhausted. |

Meanwhile, the most likely scenario is being overlooked. Most fights are one on one. On top of that, one if not both people fighting are more interested in impressing someone than actually fighting. And yes, they usually end up on the ground at one point or another.
Being pinned on your back while someone pounds your face into hamburger is no better or worse than having your face pounded into hamburger by a group of people. There is no worst scenario. Only good scenarios and bad ones. Ending up on your back in a fight when you don't know how to defend yourself would fall into the "bad" category. |
