What's yours?

Brazilian Jujitsu and Submission Fighting. I'm more comfortable on the ground than standing.

I think Tono could take us all. He trains for real in this.

Wormwood too............I did a bit of Kung-Fu in HS and a lot of Pugilism and Mu-Thai in College..........

The Kung-Fu turned out to be totally worthless, and the strait Boxing the most useful..........every real fight I've been in has consisted of stay close, grab the other guy, and bash the hell outta him before he bashes the hell outta you.....it's worked pretty well.

I've been punched in the throat before, didn't suck that much.........the most painful thing that's ever happened to me though was a shot I got to my right side that broke one of my ribs.......that was one hell of a good fight :)

Go crazy and charge my opponent at full speed, with little regaurd for anything but not winning a darwin award. Anyone who's drunk enough to get pissed off by something I say is drunk enough to not realize what the hell happened to them before they pass out from lack of oxygen.

I'm a pacifist, I don't believe in any method of fighting. I use my brain power to get me out of conflicts. It's not an easy road to travel, but it's what I believe.

The first I think is near worthless. The latter two, very practical and useful.

Yup, just what I would have thought. I have long believed that the most practical discipline for practical real world fighting would be a combination of Western Boxing, a complimentary standing/clinch art like Mu-Thai, and a solid ground art (submission wrestling/jujitsu). With proper well roundedness, Western Boxing is very, very effective.

Thus Boxing or Mu-Thia would win here.

has served me well........amazing how few people know how to throw a punch, or take one..........elbows are scary too........although a good ground fighter(around my weight) could pin me no sweat, especially if we were just goofing around. :)

weight/strength is such a huge factor though, I've played with some good ground fighters that would have be in some nasty pins or locks, but if I had weight/strength on em I could usually break out.......looked real goofy doing it though

the nature of the fight dictates what style i use...sometimes its just a redneck knock down drag out brawl.... sometimes my game steps up to a combination of boxing/shotokan( its ugly.. but effective) ... and if it gets real serious... i revert to Colt-fu.... .45 caliber style... pulling the twins usually calms things down quite a bit

Although I don't get in fights because I am all-loved, this is probably how it would go:

"I don't fight, sorry."

"Oh yeah, Gus? *punch*"

"Littering and...littering and....littering and.........smokin the reefer. Mother of God. *draws katana and removes head from neck*"

*The pacifist does some weird physics excercise where he moves a pendelum with his calm mind. This freaks the other guy out. The other guy ends up with his fighting style in his pants.

In a real fight, going to the ground is probably the last thing you should do.
Whilst you've got you're opponent pinned to the ground in an awesome chokehold, feeling rather impressed with yourself, what do you think his mates are going to be doing? (Hint: It's probably not standing back and admiring your style).
If there's one thing you should try and do it's stay on your feet, the ground is a very, very bad place to be, especially if there's more than one opponent to contend with.....
