That there were absolutely no PS3 ads in last Sunday's newspapers? It's almost like all the retail chains know they're not getting many more and deem it worthless to advertise for something they won't have.
While I realize the Sony fanbase is huge...do you think peoples attention might be directed elsewhere? Or that this could have an effect on sales?
I'd also like to note...my friend at Target (That incorrectly informed me that Target would slash the Premium 360's Price...well, he said he saw the ad but Target voted against it because the loss would be too large, derp) says that every PS3 he has sold not one person has bought a peripheral or game with...
They're all being sold on eBay. :-| |

| I'll consider buying one when they drop to $300, by then all the bugs are worked out and they actually have games for it. Until then, current gens are plenty. The PS2 has a lot of life left in it and Xbox is still holding on. |

| Why the hell would you need more customers buying the PS3. It is harder to get than Superbowl tickets. Have you ever seen ads for superbowl tickets? |

Not the tickets per say...but I do see ads for the Super Bowl. You don't really buy tickets to the PS3...so it's not that good of a comparison. I'm attempting to evaluate the effect this lack of advertising for "the game" might have on the PS3...seeing as how it now has two competitors with similar properties at different prices.
There's only one Superbowl... |

The adds are for TV, not the seats. |

| They should have released it a few months ago. They need to take care of their base buyers first (the loyal brand name buyers), than concentrate on manufacturing units in preparation of Christmas. Currently, they have name brand buyers trying to get it, and they still will be with Christmas rolls around. If you aren't going to sell many units, timing is everything. |

They all do that. Look at Xbox's fiasco last Christmas. They didn't even have spare parts and the power supply's were crap so people had to ghetto rig them with standard PSU's.

Are you using handful as a metaphor for few? |
