I'm sure you've been hearing it all over the news for years now. Violence in Iraq. Shiites killing Sunnis. Kurds fighting for segmentation. Militants and Religious fundamentalist groups terrorizing citizens and harassing American soldiers.

Infrastructure and utilities are suffering, they are worse now then they were under Saddam.

So I just want to congratulate America for removing the pin keeping Iraq together. Saddam. Sure he was a tyrant. Sure he ruled with an iron fist. But look what happens without him. Iraq plunges into chaos. In the end, it is most likely that Iraq will simply become Iran's puppet.

You can't blame the American Soldiers. They are doing a fine job, but with only 100,000 soldiers in such a large country there are limits to what they can do. In fact, at first Rumsfeld wanted to send in just 50,000.

Wow. I hear talk of "growing pains" and such but this is a rosy picture. Perhaps if there were 10x as many US soldiers in Iraq to maintain order for a few more years (5-10?) until the "democratic mindset" can sink in, things might go the way Bush planned.

Look at Japan. It was a country of 1 people (Japanese) Where as Iraq is an arbitrary country created by the British that houses Kurds, Sunnis and Shiites. After WWII America kept a significant military force in Japan for years! So if this industrialized, nation of one people took years to develop into the free, prosperous country it is today, what made America think the same was possible in Iraq in a fraction of the time and with a fraction of the resources?

You need to look up the term "forum troll" or "flame thread" - read the posting rules. I'm sure you'd have a problem with this same post if it were Turks instead of Americans, and the PKK or Kurds in place of Iraqi's.

I can understand your frustration at Saddam's removal. After all he was busy killing all the Kurds which meant Turkey didn't have to worry about them so much! :ouch:
