Now this is for FPS.
I know most people, myself included, favor the mouse/keyboard over the controller. Does that mean if you ever had lets say Halo CE in the PC vs Halo for hte Xbox would the PC players just destroy the console opponents?

Now I was reading this and they made some good points for pro controller.

It’s a question that has been on gamers minds ever since shooters started appearing on consoles. Obviously the mouse is superior, right? I mean the mouse is designed as a hyper-sensitive pointing device and has been refined over the years specifically for that purpose. We all know that the most important element in any shooter game is the ability to quickly get your crosshair over the enemy and pull the trigger. So given that, it’s obvious that the mouse will win every time in a fire fight, regardless of the game, right? Wrong. Don’t misunderstand me, that is exactly what every single member of the design team thought, including me, until we actually tried it. So, what actually happened when we played our first cross-platform game? The controller players trounced the mouse/keyboard players. It wasn’t even close; the mouse players got stomped on. Over and over. So what happened? Did the mouse players just suck? Or was the controller actually a superior aiming device? Short answer: the mouse is better at aiming, but the controller is better at gaming

It goes more in depth if you want to read the link.

It's not better than a controller or a keyboard/mouse. I've been far from impressed with the Wii thus far. And this is coming from someone who has owned every Nintendo console since the SNES. I am still iffy on the Wii, especially after playing it.

It is impossible to do long range shots with a controler. Mice are necesary for anything long range. Controlers are good for close range, but close range combat is possible with the mouse. Really, it depends what you are used to. I am used to keyboard and mouse.

How is it not? You are literally pointing at the screen, one control stick/D-pad free.

It's no different from shooting games in the arcades.
