The controls were terrible on mine, you'd go to search through songs and then hit the play button which was on the other side so when you pulled down on one side it naturally made your hand pull on the other and it cancelled itself out constantly. It had this thumb stick thing that would never work according to your movement. The operating system would freeze at least twice during use and the only way to unfreeze it was to pull the battery out, not mention it was ugly and looked like the original Gameboy green screen. Plus, the front plate would pop off all the time. You had to sit there and jiggle the audio jack to make sure you had a decent connection. It also had two bulky cables, one for data and one for charging. The Creative application was a terrible piece of software as well, iTunes blows it away.

Overall poorly designed.

I have a Zen and I've never had any trouble with it at all. Maybe the Nomads are different, I don't know about them.

I restored my iPod back to "factory settings" and redid all of the songs. It is better but some still "skip".

Any advice?

Ask for a replacement or a refund.
