why do, most, theist worship whatever god they believe in? does your god demand it or is it some strange submissive fetish?

I as taught that (from a christian perspective) God demands worship from us. I am not sure about other religions or sects, however, I believe that the only 'need' to worship comes from ourselves.

Speaking personally, I see worship as a means of developing a relationship between me and my creator. I don't see the point in God creating us to fulfill some need to feel good about himself, surely he's got better things to do... :-D

Because you will go to Hell if you don't. The Bible says that the Sabbath day is to be respected, and all Abrahamic religions have very harsh penalties for not worshiping.

It's like communism. They say that you have "free will" or "free choice," but the only option is to worship. Kind of like saying ,"oh yeah you can WHATEVER you WANT... physically... we'll just be pointing a gun at your head."

Anything that wants to control your mind is evil, no matter how many short term benefits may appear to be generated from it. The solution?

However, to answer your question: To breathe is to live. To worship God (or a god) is an individual choice of conscious. I don't see the two comparable at all. Unless someone can point out how they are. I welcome a new learning experience.

well personally I'm a top, not so much into the submission thing..........

as to worship.....I think of it more as communing with the big-guy, trying to be close to him, getting advice, being encouraged, ect.........basically trying to improve my relationship with the divine.

that whole "walk with Jesus" thing.....If it was a sub thing then you'd have to give him a piggy-back ride, in my experience the reverse is more accurate.
