in the idealization of the future such as the TV and movies Star Trek, all the problems of the world have been worked out and the Earth is one big union and is pretty much socialist and the bad guys like the Kilngons are Nazi like and the A holes are the Feringy, conservative capitalists?
Is it bad the Earth has no wars and all the countires are united in a union and there is no poverty or hardship? Is that so wrong? |

Yea its bad! ... because if you don't believe in the right religion, then God says it's okay to kill, and to behave like a raging bigot. Didn't you know that a peaceful, one-world government is a sign of the end times and the reign of the anti-Christ? The very idea comes from the dark one himself! Repent, thou sinner, for even suggesting such a thing!
PS - The Klingons, since the Khyttimer Accords and the glorious victory over the Dominion at Bajor, are friends with the Federation... At least politically speaking, Chancellor Gowron has been bailed out by the Federation time and time again... Even the Romulan fascists have come around! I mean, who wants to be ruled by a bunch of changlings and their Jem Haddar slaves? Even a socialist one-world government knows that you have to fight sometimes... The Ferengi deserve no further comment; they're too concerned with the Rules of Acquisition and their precious gold-pressed latinum to care.... |

| Locked. If you have a point, I'm sure you can make it better than you did here, and without calling people A holes. |

In Star Treks case the earth people didn't develop space travel aka Warp Drive until after a world war involving Nukes. That would tend to wake up a lot of people to what conflict can lead to eventually. |
