Then you mind explaining what exactly you're doing on a Christian forum?
Trying to find your god... I mean 2 billion people can't be wrong right...Or at least some real insight on why you believe the way you do.....
Like I said, the Gospels are a much better source for that kind of insight than anything I might be able to do or say.
The gospels will not lead me to your god....
Try actually reading them for what they are. The atheist must always be careful of reading too much into things if he is to protect his thinking.
Hmmm. So what are they Mr mojo? |

Narvik wrote: psholtz wrote: Narvik wrote: psholtz wrote: Narvik wrote: Why doesn't God let us all live in heaven?
He does, just so long as you obey God's Law.
Check Luke 17:21 for more info..
What I meant was why didn't he create us in heaven and let us live there forever, like he did to the angels.
You have Free Will.
Angels don't.
You are more powerful than angels, for this reason.
But as a consequence of that power, you must suffer for it as well.. esp when you make retarded decisions as a consequence of your Free Will.
My question was: why didn't he create us in heaven?
Do we lose our free will when we get to heaven?
No.
Narvik wrote: If not, why didn't God create us in heaven.
He did. Man fell from grace a long time ago and our souls have been attempting to get back home for good. Not all Christians see or recognize this, but many are starting to come around.... our souls have been around a long time and every incarnation we have an opportunity of getting closer to our premanent resident in Heaven. The role that Jesus played in his lifetime is a big key to our victory.
Narvik wrote: If so, how can we be more powerful than angels?
Well angels are very powerful spiritual beings... and I'm not sure what you mean by "more powerful than angels." |

The portrait of the life and death and Jesus Christ.
If you can't recognize the beauty and majesty of the gospels words then you won't be convinced by anything ANYONE says.
Your objections aren't even legitimate anymore. They come off as desperate attempts to satirically dismiss the faithful as fools. |

There are enough fools in every group....In every group people are misled...IMO the gospels are not 100% correct...How correct are they? I don't know but if just 1 % was wrong it could change the out look of everything... |

Are you a Prophet? I am amazed at your knowledge of God's Plan!

Well, since you know so much about these matters maybe you can tell us if something is more powerful than angels. Is God more powerful than Satan?
Is Superman more powerful than Angels? What about Galactus? Also, are Elves more powerful than Leperachauns? What about the Tooth Fairy against the Sand Man? |

If 1% was wrong it would not change anything with the exception of Jesus Christ rising from the dead. But since that story is retold in all 4 gospels I doubt that be wrong.
There are 4 different stories of Jesus' life, death and ressurection. They are portraits of him. They are not all going to be completely accurate depictions of his story. But they do show a general and fairly accurate depiction of his life and death. |

It doesn't bother you that even though some of them copied from another source (Q), they still got it wrong, and, of course, that they copied from another source? There is only one description of the resurrection and 3 copies with embellishing by each author. |

It's amazing that the Faith of the average believer is greater than the majority of Biblical scholars - or, at least, different. I guess actually studying the Bible is the best book for debunking the Bible...
I mean, forget learning the language of the original works, and understanding what God is trying to say to you, just take your favorite interpretation and call it a revelation!

nope..........Q makes sense, during that time it was common for people to only write narratives towards the end of the lives of the people who knew the great man......(ex. Ptolomey and Antigone's narratives on Alex the Great).......Sulla and Ceaser bucked the trend by writing their own memiors, but still most people wouldn't write the narratives out at first, they would compile the sayings of said great man into a collections of wisdom....like Q or the gosple of Thomas. The narrartives would naturally come later.................my opinion is that Mathew most likley wrote Q considering he was literate and that his Gospel has the greatest amount of Jesus's sayings.......makes sense he would compile this wisdom, and only write a narrative in his old age. |

What proof is there of "Q" other than the consistencies of the texts? Which in my opinion is proof of inspiration from the Holy Spirit. We have four versions that have slightly different angles for a reason. It’s a fulfillment of prophecy actually…but I don’t expect you to be on that level. A little surprised that enyon isn't though....no worries...he has time to grow. |
