Charles Rangel has been in congress since 1970 and is now serving his 18th term. For those that were stupid enough to say this would be the end of him really have no clue at all about him or the district he represents. Sometimes it's better to be silent and have people think your a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.

As for the people that think this was a political stunt to make Republicans look bad or for the liberal Democrats are some stupid nonsense, once again you don't know the man.

Charles Rangel has a bronze star and a purple heart, supports the army to the fullest and believes in the draft and has so since the first day he was elected. This is nothing new for him and anyone who bothered to know the man would have known this.

He first introduced the bill in 2003 and again last year in 2005. Once again he's taking a stab at it because he's flushed with the new found power he has. I wish him well and hope he does manage to get it passed as I agree with him. The army should represent all of America and everyone between 18-26 should serve in the military. He's cutting back on the number to 15 months of service to appease some of the fellow congressmen.

As for the children here that fit into that age bracket and cry that they will run to Canada, BYE. I just hope your prepared to never see your family again because if you try to come back you will be tossed in prison with most Americans laughing at you and calling you a coward.

Enjoy the frozen north and I hope you can get a job there since no support will be coming from here. Your families neighbors will toment your mom and dad but then you ran and showed you cared little about them or their feelings so as long as your safe and sound it doesn't matter.

On the bright side the legal age in Canada is about 14 I think so at least you will be an adult.

So when people protest and dodge tyranical legislation they are cowards? I am confused. The draft strips the remaining liberty from the people yet if they don't obey the government they are cowards?

I guess my man balls aren't inflated enough to have such a gorilla chest thuddin' understanding of this issue. Don't even try to make draft dodging about being a traitor. The idea is wrong to begin with. Now if they volunteered willingly and then went AWOL then yes, they are traitors. They volunteered to protect AMERICANS from threats. They weren't forced to fight in wars that threaten the government..

AMERICANS..GOVERNMENT...see the difference. if you can't, you don;t deserve to be an American...Canadian....Brit....or any citizen of a FREE country.
