There is only one Kumar. 8:)

But, there never has been an ultra-liberal Kumar. I believe in the use of government for not just adequate wealth redistribution, but for sensible social control and regulation as well. But that's enough politics for the Lounge. :)

Send me your presents and cookies if you don't want them.

I'll make you a trade, i'll send you my presents/cookies and i get to burn your house down, run your dog over, shoot you parents, and steal your girlfriend.

Why? I like my house, dog, and parents.... I'm merely taking things that you said you hate.

I'm getting to do things i'd enjoy

you're getting things you'd enjoy

seems like an even trade

also it is possible to like presents/cookies and still dislike christmas

Why should I have to trade? I'm taking away something you do not like, and I am getting something that I like. It's win-win.

Not liking christmas does not mean you cannot like things associated with christmas. I enjoy presents/cookies, i HATE non-immediate family and this hate far outweighs the joys of presents/cookies causing me to hate christmas and the holiday season in general. How is it hard to understand that you can hate something while enjoying things associated with it? although you can have my cookies because i'm not big on them

Totally disagree... this is the time of year when a persons character comes to the forefront. If you can't cope, you aren't ready for the real world grasshopper. You must be ready to face the dangers of the Christmas Shopping Season without turning into an asshat yourself. You must try to grab that pebble from the hands of the almighty KING asshat - when you can do that... you will be ready.

I hate this time of year and that materialism coupled with Christmas turns everyone into instant asshats for the next two months. The traffic s*cks, people try to run you down in the parking lot, it's shoulder to shoulder in every damn store.

Christmas should be banned.

Anyone else with me on this?
No, because I already have a mental Christman list.

I've never been a fan of Christmas for various reasons. Just because someone doesn't like Christmas does not necessarily mean that that person is an asshat or is a mean and hateful person. A lot of times, it's because Christmas has turned into a commercialized piece of crap holiday that's only purpose is to suck the life right out of people one dollar at a time. It cheapens the meaning of love and family and puts a price on it.

Like I said earlier. If it wasn't for my children I could live without Christmas and all that it entails. I do try to put on a happy face and make the season special for my kids because they are only kids once... I want them to enjoy it.

Merry Christmas to the children and BahHumbug to retailers.

I do the same thing, but I still like Christmas...

A month back home, new classes in January, presents, home-cooked food, warm bed, see my parents, dog and brother, cookies, decorating the tree, relaxing after finals, and then getting to come back and having it be like a whole new school year...

I'll spend one day with my non-immediate family for that.
