If Osama bin Laden and his Al-Qaida surrender and turn to dialogue...

would you support him as for the sake of the world's peace?

I most certainly would not. Osama would be put to trial or better off shot. He is the cause of 9/11 and he is the only reason why I have hope for some redemption or reason for the U.S. soldiers who have already lost their lives over seas.

Words are my Weapon of choice and Truth is my Shield

Anyone who incorporates the above principle deserves to be heard.

The problem with people like Osama bin Laden is that they sieze upon violence as their first instinct.
The rhetoric of "Islam is a Religion of Peace" coupled with the caveat that Peace will only be evident
upon complete submission is a non-starter in regards to negotiations.

The time for dialog comes before the initial violent action, not afterwords.

What a BS poll. No way in hell I'd support him in any way. He should die.

The best time to strike dialogue is when the losers of the battle are signing a surrender treaty.

He dug his own grave. I'm sure if he would have held off 9/11 and actually tried to talk to the US we would have listened, a little. He assumed we wouldn't so he chose the only option he thought available....violence.

Same reason Bush went to Iraq...He thought his words to the UN fell on def ears so he chose the only option he saw...invasion.

We apparently are worlds apart when it comes to avoiding violent conflicts.

Not really....I agree that words are good at the beginning, but you must be ready to fight if it is enivitable that your words mean nothing to the other party.

Even if he sincerely repented and found God (whichever God applies) he still deserves his punishment under the laws of man. Getting right with God does not erase crimes, it may save your soul...... if it's sincere, but it doesn't mean it pardons crimes on earth.

Hey, I admitted it would have only been a little.

It's not neccessarily that they want to force submission before a fight ever takes place. It's that when they talk they feel that no one is listening, so it won't do them any good. Violence is a universal language.

Oh please. This is pathetic. Revenge is more important to you all than a resolution to the problem.

Yeah, it doesn't matter how many more people die, as long as we kill one person who pissed us off!

Okay...and getting more people killed would solve the problem how? Please explain to me how vengeance solves anything?

The problem is - neither have anything to be have a meaningful dialogue about. With PLO and IRA there were political imperitives behind the movement.

Both Osama and Al - Aqida's stated aim is the destruction of the US. SO there is not much to dailogue about really
