CNN has a pretty good setup on following the federal election results.

I've talked about the KY-3rd a couple of times, and no one's paid much attention to me, or to that race. Perhaps the national media doesn't consider Louisville important, and maybe it's not. With that said, the KY-3rd has a 5-time GOP incumbent, Anne Northup, currently in an almost dead-even race with Democrat John Yarmuth, with Yarmuth actually UP by ~2000 votes (according to the CNN site Rob linked) with 68% of precincts reporting.
What I'm getting at is that this may be one district where the Dems pick up a seat nobody expected them to pick up. Granted, it's not over yet, but my guess is that it's a whole lot closer than many Republicans thought it would be. |

If Lugar had lost, I would have been slightly surprised, considering there was no one running against him.... |

| This is fascinating. I expected the gap to close over time, not get bigger. While I won't bore you all with a continuing play-by-play, Yarmuth's lead keeps getting bigger, and Northup's running out of precincts to count. |

Northup is in a Democrat District, and was expected to lose big. The fact that she's tied within a point bodes well for us. 8:)
Btw, I've had these numbers from 0% reporting, and I don't have to wait for CNN. |

You don't know what you're talking about. If this is a Dem district, how is she a 5-time GOP incumbent? While we pointlessly voted for Kerry in '04, Kerry only won Jefferson County by 5k votes. Hardly a landslide win for Kerry in a "Democrat district." How do Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning keep getting elected?
Don't give me this garbage about the GOP expecting her to lose big. |

Republicans are ahead in 15 of 19 races in Florida, and are with .4% in Foley's old seat, and that's with Palm Beach Co reporting, and the outer more conservative counties not reporting yet. One other race there in Florida is a lock with Dave Weldon, in fact he's alreadysent me an e-mail on his victory.
Looks like 17 of 20 seats go Republican in Florida. 8:) |

| CNN is calling an Indiana race, though it may be a premature calling. They have Ellsworth (D) defeating incumbent Hostettler (R), but it says 39% of precincts reporting. Seems odd to call it. |

It's mainly Jefferson County, which is Louisville.
The fact is that Kerry did win that district, as we know it's liberal, and she's hanging tight.
That's a good sign. 8:) |

I'm sure it is to the GOP, but don't feed me this crap about the GOP expecting a 5-time Republican incumbent, who just so happens to sit on the Appropriations Committee, to lose big in her own district.
Yes, Jefferson county is liberal, especially in comparison to the rest of Kentucky, but we HAVE voted in Northup since 1996. |

And they have to write in the Republicans name - LMAO - regarding the Foley seat - and it isn't an easy name.
The Allan race is tight but again - we have urban coming in well ahead of the outlying and rural areas. I'm confident of an Allen victory when all the dust settles.
It seems our Democrratic buddies have lost perspective here. historically, this race shouldn't even be a question. This should be a terrible one sided trashing of the Republicans and it isn't looking that way right out of the gates.
The one race that really irks me though is the Santorum race in PA. I just can't understand what's wrong with those knuckleheads over there. |

Casey is a complete waste of a vote. It's simply a hate Bush vote. What I don't get is the NJ senate race...they know Menendez is a crook. |
