Blogs when used as a reference (for example in P&G) as part of a substantive opinion seems okay - however, I've seen more posts lately that are simply cut & pastes from someone's blog... with the link to the blog article at the bottom.

Is this okay? My understanding was that blogs can be used as a reference link - but that duplicating a blog article and passing it off in P&G as a debating topic is a no-no.

So can I start doing this because I have a helluva lot of archived blog articles I can just slap up here every day...

If it's NOT okay - can the Posting Rules be updated to include "no cut & paste of blog articles" ???

As you probably are aware of by now - that OP that you linked to was deactivated as it was a SPAMMER account and the post trashed.

No, it's not okay to copy/paste *any* article without a substantive personal opinion, as per current forum rules:

Quote: Article-based thread criteria. Articles posted to start a topic must be accompanied by a source and a substantive opinion, otherwise it will be deleted. Substantive opinions present an obvious stance with respect to the article and are not unarguable opinions like, "This is interesting." The opinion should create a solid basis for debate.

I don't see any reason to make an addition to the rules, since citing a blog article is still an article that has to have all of the above criteria.
