Just got back from a school board meeting.
Apparently, my children's gradeschool (and the gradeschool where I work) is closing.
They are planning on consolidating/renovating/building new elementary schools, middle schools and high school.. district wide.
Yay.
Not happy here.. at all. |

How soon is this going to happen?
Usually when schools talk about this, it has to be planned, approved, built, etc., and it takes a while.
Are your children old enough where they may be out of this school by the time the "new" school is ready to be moved into? |

My kids are 3rd and 4th grade.. however.. this is going to affect all the schools district wide. While the grade school is closing, the middle schools are going to be consolidated... the grades are going to be restructured (for example ES: PreK-K, 1-6 (instead of 1-5), 7-9 (instead of 6-8) and 10-12 (instead of 9-12))) so even though they may both be out of elementary school by the time this is all implemented... they will be affected by it. There is talk about building another high school and razing the old one.. the middle schools will be set and new boundaries set, as will the remaining elementary schools will have new boundaries....which will affect them and my RE taxes will be going up... bigtime.
This is all in the works, and I'm unsure at this point when this will all 'go down'.. but I'm not happy about it all, regardless. |
