Abramoff Reports to Prison Tomorrow; Offers Testimony on Democratic Senators

Brian Ross and Rhonda Schwartz Report:

Convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff is scheduled to report to federal prison tomorrow, over the objections of federal prosecutors who say they still need his help to pursue leads on officials he allegedly bribed.

Sources close to the investigation say Abramoff has provided information on his dealings with and campaign contributions and gifts to "dozens of members of Congress and staff," including what Abramoff has reportedly described as "six to eight seriously corrupt Democratic senators."

The sources say Abramoff was about to provide information about Bush administration officials, including Karl Rove, "accepting things of value" from Abramoff.

Abramoff has been meeting almost daily in secret locations around Washington with Justice Department investigators who are examining thousands of e-mails and documents, according to sources close to the investigation. The convicted lobbyist was spotted in downtown Washington, D.C., yesterday, carrying a computer laptop case.

But the prosecutors' easy access to Abramoff has now ended.

After granting several delays, the federal judge in Florida, who sentenced Abramoff to six years for fraud in a casino boat gambling scheme, has ordered him to report to prison tomorrow.

ABC News has learned that the court has granted a request from prosecutors that Abramoff be incarcerated at the closest prison to Washington, D.C., the Federal Correction Institute in Cumberland, Md., where Abramoff is expected to report tomorrow.

I don't understand why it's "ended" with him reporting to prison though......

Is this just a game to you? Don't you care about corruption period, or do you only care about corruption on one side, and not concerned with one person being exposed on your "team" since "he's almost gone anyway." God, what a way to live......

Now you want to expand it to all leftists in the world? Okay, the leftist moral of getting crap for free whether you work for it or not. I.E. socialism. Rep. Jefferson comes from a leftist district that has one of the highest welfare reciepient rates in the nation. They were willing to overlook his taking bribes as long as he continued on with the status quo of pushing for more social spending programs. That my friend, is a leftist moral.

I was actually wondering that same thing myself. My only guess would be that perhaps the day you start your time is the day you can no longer have your sentence commuted so he'll stand nothing to gain by testifying because it's already set in stone.

Nothing in this thread or the OP article says anything about Democrats not desiring accountability.
Or are you implying that Democrats got to this judge in Florida in an effort to keep Abramhoff from testifying?

If there are dirty Dems :lol: then Abramoff is doing the U.S a favour. Corruption needs to be rooted out of American politics and the lobbists are at the heart of it. Special interests to the detriment of the average American needs to be curbed. I wish Pelosi luck. For every crooked bastard Abramoff gives up and it is proven. He should get time deducted from his sentence. That means he will meet a untimely death in prison then, if he decides to grass. :lol:

corruption can't be tolerated...by anyone...it destroys the fabric of society as we have seen in America for too long..if Abramoff has the goods on anyone...let the process proceed
