Is it your career? (i.e. being a doctor or an engineer etc)
Is it your family? (husband, wife, mother, father etc)
Is it your hobby? (Skydiver, stamp collector etc)
Is it your personality? (Funny man, livewire, hothead etc)
Is it your nationality?
Is it your political beliefs?
The lazy answer would be 'all of these things make me who I am', but what do you primarily identify yourself as when introducing yourself to others? Or how do you see yourself being first and foremost? |

Is it your career? Partially. My career is in helping those who cannot help themselves. For that, those who know me respct the work that I do.
Is it your family? I'm known as being a inclussive father to my children. For that, those who know me respect me for that.
Is it your hobby? Of the hobbies that I'm most known for (playing golf) it is considered a gentleman's game with honesty and integrity. Some people think that I am mentally ill for playing the game and they would be right  but it is a game that is is known for its respect.
Is it your personality? My personality is one where people often trust me because I will do what I promise to do unless I absolutely cannot. I have garnished trust in people because I generally do not speak ill of others and do not spread gossip. Sometimes I wish people would shut the hell up when they tell me things I'd rather not know but I would much rather be trusted than not trusted.
Is it your nationality?
English Irish on my father's side, German on my mother's side. that means I drink with style and grace  seriously, not much stand out about my nationality.
Is it your political beliefs?I do not interject my political beliefs into every day life to a large extent. If someone asks they are generally not surprised to find out that I am a fiscal conservative Republican. |

Is it your career? (i.e. being a doctor or an engineer etc) A student?
Is it your family? (husband, wife, mother, father etc) I dunno...
Is it your hobby? (Skydiver, stamp collector etc) Taekwondo martial artist... swimmer... blogger...
Is it your personality? (Funny man, livewire, hothead etc) Eclectic and pragmatic personality
Is it your nationality? I'm a Palestinian, but that's not what makes me who I am fully.
Is it your political beliefs? Perhaps: very liberal and open to people.
I primarily identify myself with being a Muslim, then a liberal. |

| I'd say my beliefs. Currently I'm a student but maybe when I graduate I'll start to associate myself more with my profession. |

I would say my beliefs, my very way of thinking is at odds with the mainstream.
But my personality is also something different entirely, I have an overactive imagination, I'm OCD, a hypochondriac. I take what people say too personally sometimes, as if it was an attack when it really wasn't (something I've noticed about myself recently, don't know what that's called).
If you're looking for unique qualities just give me a CAT scan, it's all in my head. Everything else on the outside is pretty normal, I'm not living an extraordinary life. |

| My personality. I am a "nice guy" who is "out-going" and very "down to earth" with a "good sense of humor." My girlfriend calls me an "intellectual hunk" and her friends seem to agree. Good stuff. |

I'm a nerdy ex-Orthodox Jewish agnostic androgynous shy pansexual serial monogamist former Canadian now an American college student that ISN'T a pinko. I collect Captain America comic books and am an ex-vegitarian. I hate cats.
That's my identity in a nutshell, I guess. It's a combination, but a very specific bit of each that makes me who I am. |

Combination of factors.
My hobby is both my career and my life. Without it I would be nothing. My family are of massive importance to me, attack them and you're dead, no kidding. My nationality, personality, faith and politics are so intertwined that it's difficult to seperate them.
I am what I am, and that's all that I am. That's about all I can say on the subject. |

All of these things except nationality and hobby. My personality is a big factor but I can't discount my family - being a mother is a big part of who I am but it in itself doesn't define who I am.... just as one single thing should not define who *anyone* is. We're a little more complex than that. |

| people generally on first appearance give me an identity totally different to what i actually am. my personality probably defines me more than anything, i'm not that easy to get on with generally, shyish, and dont talk much, unless someone needs help, or i want to give an opinion or argue. but i like to lead, especially with things i am passionate about or interested in. |

I just am who I am....I don't think man has a label that puts "me" into a certain class.
I think it really boils down to our spirits. that is the real essence of who we really are. I don't think it is something that is identified by our career, family, hobby, personality, personality, political beliefs or as some will even say sexuality. These are all temporal things that will not even exist in the eternal. If I had to really try and define what really determines who we are, I'd have to say it is our relationship with the eternal One (God). Since He is the standard for what is real, then it is only logical that it is our relation with Him that really defines who we are. |

It's my experiences that make me who I am, that create my identity, and I'd say it's the same for everyone.
My personality developed primarily because of my childhood experiences and socialisation. My interests spring from this, as does my ambition, and I'm not saying that doesn't change. 5 years ago my aim was to join the RAF, but the way things went I ended up doing other things and ended up here in this hell hole of an insurance company!
Now, what fuels others perception of us? Thats a tricky one.... |
