Saddam Hussein has been sentanced to death by hanging by a jury of his peers for crimes against humanity.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,227574,00.html
Quote: The so-called Butcher of Baghdad, who was president of Iraq from 1979 until he was deposed by Coalition forces in April 2003, was convicted of the 1982 killing of 148 Shiites in the city of Dujail.
The visibly shaken former leader shouted "God is great!" as Iraq's High Tribunal announced his sentence.
Saddam's half brother and former intelligence chief Barzan Ibrahim, and Awad Hamed al-Bandar, head of the former Revolutionary Court, were sentenced to join Saddam on the gallows for the Dujail killings after an unsuccessful assassination attempt during a Saddam visit to the city 35 miles north of Baghdad. I can't say that I din't expect this, I just didn't expect it so soon. I feel no pity for this man, and find this verdict to be justified. |

"Finally I get to say something here"...
"Your honor as to the sentence you are about to pronounce on me"...
"Hold on you sad sack sadistic piece of sh*t...I'm checking the USC score here"...
"Yes Yes why of course sir...Take your time there...No hurry"...
"Alright they won!...Ok continue you slimmy skunk"...
"Well first of all I didn't murder anybody...Now I will admit to hosing 72 virgins but it was out of desparation as my wife wouldn't give me any...Under those circumstances I feel maybe just a little community service is in order your honor"...
"Yeah well maybe that part of your story I can find believable as it the same case in nearly every home throughout the land...But the evidence points otherwise...Death by hanging...Take him away!"...
"But!!! But!!!"...
"But nothing!...Get his cheesey *ss out of here!...And it's too bad we can't put you in the electric chair!...Now let me get back her and see if Norte Dame won...They're also on my card"...

Here are some Saddam outbursts to help you with your greiving:
"I do not fear execution....Do you want the neck of Saddam Husein? You can have it"
"Why don't you bang that gavel on your head?"
And my personal favourite
"I WILL CRUSH YOUR HEAD!!!!!" |

Finally, another dictator is about to bite the dust. And I don't think he was in any position to be making threats. |

Yea but this is not really a P&G issue.
It's more of a news & Events issue.
But anyways it's like 8 pages long and has mainly turned into people quoting 15 other people and commenting on someones comments about someone else.
But this is not to surprising. It's why we invaded, to get him.
Which is why a court was set up in Iraq. And not charged in front of UN or a World court.
Because there would be a possibility he would not get the death penalty.
I mean what is a valid response to the assassination attempt of the leader of a country?
But the main reason for this thread here is the other is way to long to read.

His demeanor reminded me of Herman Goering at the Nurmberg trials. Loud, and obnoxious, cocky, and so convinced that he would be a free man post-trial...
Not to mention that he "was a ruthless gangster that had a pudgy finger in every pie" |

when i posted that the P&G side was not very big, and well i was pointing to that side, to make sure that the threads stayed somewhat alined, having a split thread is hard to keep up with |

| No surprise. Personally, I think the whole trial was a sham and a waste of time; nothing but a publicity stunt. Should have just killed the guy from the get go. |

| Whether it was a scam or not, our job is that much closer to being done. Now if the Iraqi police and military will hurry up and get their sh*t together, we can GTFO |
