Quote: If there is a casus belli, it may be Israeli infiltration of Lebanon or the death of some Hezbollah members. Who knows. Apologists for Israel, however, love to tow the "Unprovoked attack" line until everyone starts believing it. Isn't that how lies become truth Skippy?

Do you have evidence of any Hezbollah officials we assasinated in the immediate prior to the start of Hezbollah's attack? Hezbollah did launch an unprovoked attack with clear aims and their reasons were well stated and did not include any action by Israel in killing Hezbollah members in Lebanon.

Quote: Israel provoked Hezbollah all the time prior to July 12th.....you know that Skippy, as I'm sure there were provocations from the Hezbollah side, one would be naive to think it would be one-sided. All I'm saying is , that both sides had their hands in the lead-up.

How did we constantly provoke them? They arent a nation and dont reprisent a nation thus unless we directly attack them we have little we can legally be infringing upon them.

Quote: As for un-named source....That may very well have been the price of admission at the time as it was well before the date of Israel's operation.

But you have no evidence for your claim.

How did you provoke them?? Israel has been violating the airspace and territorial waters of Lebanon continuously and consistently ever since it was forced to withdraw its forces and its collaborator army, the South Lebanon army, in May 2000. In addition to that Skippy, Israel had constantly engaged in skirmishes from time to time with Hezbollah, so why such surprise on your part?

Under no circumstance is a nation allowed to attack another sovereign nation’s civilian population with the use of physical force, economic strangulation and collective punishment due to a “provocation” caused by a non-government entity. Collectively punishing a civilan population for the actions of an entity contravenes the UN charter as well as the Fourth Geneva convenion article 33.

If so that is a complaint for Lebanon to register not Hezbollah. Hezbollah is not Lebanon and is not a nation and cannot bring Lebanon to war or in fact declare war at all over territorial integrity disputes. It is up to Beirut not Hezbollah, and since they arent a nation and arent an auxillary of the government that leaves only one thing they can legally be.

You cannot intentionally target civilians that is correct. Something Hezbollah is infamous for ignoring from Argentina, to Panama, to Britian, to Beirut.
