| is the fact that this forum is mainly influenced by talk about homosexual males a reflection on our societies outlook on lesbians? I.E. that it's more acceptable for to females to have a relationship than it is for two males? |

Maybe it is because it is traditionally a male dominated society? And perhaps it is secretly thought of as 'hot' when two women have sex rather than two guys.
It seems to be emasculating for two men to have sex together. Many historians and anthropologists believe this is how the 'gay is bad' thinking in religious circles came from. Being that ancient Jewish/Christian society was a very male dominated society, two guys having sex was seen as 'not manly' or seen as taking away the traditional 'male is the boss' mindset (after all, one has to be the woman, right?). Men can't have long hair; men can't dress like women; men shouldn't wear jewelry, etc. At least this is how many people look at it. |

I think it actually goes back further than the Jews, back at least to the Syrians--especially the Code of Hammurabi--and yes, this society's double standard around male and female homosexuality is reflected in the gay rights debate. When the bible-beaters start bashing gays it is almost invariably gay men that are in the crosshairs. For some reason the "ick" factor is much higher around gay male sex than lesbian sex.
The really stupid thing about this whole argument for me is that, as a transsexual, I get tarred with the same brush as the homosexuals despite the fact that transsexuality has nothing to do with sexual orientation and there isn't a single word in the whole Bible about transsexuals, gender identity, or changing gender presentation. |

| I think it is interesting that in the Nazi camps Gay Males got their own symbol while Lesbians shared the black triangle with Anarchists and other non-communist political dissidents. |

I don't understand the title here.
As for the subject, Women have always been more physically effectionate with other women. at least for a a very long time in society in general.
Women call their friends girlfriends and will sometimes hold hands and that is not considered to be gay. Also, there is a predictable erotica of most males (myself included) of two women kissing and rubbing up against each other. Most women do not find the same erotica when two males do the same. Because of this there is an additional "ick" factor in regards to male homosexuality than there is with women. |

"Ick factor"
Is this a scientific variable or another hypocritical statement? |

Is this a scientific variable or another hypocritical statement? Just a general statement of reality. Guys can watch girl on girl action and get aroused by it. If we view 2 guys it arouses an ick feeling. The same even goes for most straight women. They would rather watch girl on girl than guy on guy. |

Without a doubt.
What's more, the anti-gay male focus isn't just about male/male pairing. It's driven by misconceptions regarding our sex lives, most especially the assumptions that we all practice anal sex and/or that it's the preferred practice of most gay men. Neither is true.
Some of us don't practice ANY form of insertive sex, anal or oral. Of those that do, various research suggests that oral sex may be preferred over anal sex, though getting reliable data about any aspect of homosexuality is difficult at best, period. With regard to anal sex, some try it once or a handful of times and decide it's not for them. For others, it likely depends as much on the preferences of their partner(s) as to whether or not they engage in the practice with any regularity. For some, it's simply one option to add variety and not their regular practice - a fact that is also true of some heterosexual couples. |

Okay call me a prude but have a prostate exam and it's like "YIKES!" That was not cool. I cannot imagine something bigger than a finger going up there. Then comes the idea of probing that region. When asked for when I'm in a less than sober state I'm like yeah sure whatever... But in a sober state of mind... Poopy comes out of that hole, no thanks :h |

And the opening from which women excrete urine is located where? (Hint: your penis is pretty close to it during sexual intercourse).
Seriously, if you're afraid of getting 'dirty', don't have sex, period. |

Close enough for incidental contact. Be glad you're not a woman - she gets your urinary opening stuck inside her. |

Only if they're "hot" according to the frat boy standard. |
