Ideally Saracen would be right. However recent history proves him drastically wrong. The Oslo Accords and Clinton's deal offered the Palestinians enormous concessions on the Israeli part. After Clinton's plan, the Palestinians increased terror attacks.
Also, Israeli annexation would be the best thing for the inhabitants of the territories. If you compare the arabs inside Israel to arabs outside ISrael, then one can see the dramatic benefits of living within Israel proper. However, few people in Gaza or the West Bank would see it this way and would not accept annexation. So no, annexation does not bring peace, however it does provide security for Israel.
The best thing for Israel has always been a functioning Palestinian state. However all attempts at creating one have devolved into terrorism and thuggery. |
