|
|
Quote: A cluster bomb exploded Sunday, killing a 12-year-old boy and wounding his younger brother in a southern Lebanese village, Lebanese security officials said.
Rami Ali Hussein Shibly and his brother, Khodr, 9, where picking olives in their family's grove in Halta when the cluster bomb exploded, said the security officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media.
The United Nations and human rights groups have accused Israel of firing as many as 4 million cluster bombs into Lebanon during its 34-day war with the militant group Hezbollah that ended in a UN-brokered cease-fire on August 14.
UN demining experts say up to 1 million of the cluster bombs failed to explode immediately and continue to threaten civilians, especially children who can mistake the ordnance for batteries or other small objects.
Sunday's death brings to at least 21 the number of people who have died in cluster bomb explosions in Lebanon since the war ended. More than 100 people have been wounded, according to the UN Mine Action Center.
The London-based advocacy group Landmine Action warned in a report issued this month that civilian casualties would continue to increase as people return to their villages in southern Lebanon and sift through the "cluster munition-infested rubble" of their homes.
Linkage
Israel, must be the one country that murders more children on any given day, in this whole world. |

nope im so sure they werent doing anything when the bomb exploded, it fell from the sky, landed with substantial impact, and didnt explode, all of a sudden 2 kids picking olives, minding their own business are blown up by it with out touching it? dont fall for more propoganda than you already have, somebody ( prob the kids ) had touched the bomb to set it off |

So, in this case, you are more inclined to blame the children; for picking olives & setting off a cluster bomblet, than you are inclined to blame the people who dropped bombs into a civilian area... |

no i blame the media for being one sided, the parents for not teaching them to stay away; not watching them, and Hezbollah for not ensuring the safety of the ones they claim they are fighting for, they did not stress the danger of munitions strong enough i guess, u.n for not stressing safety of unexploded ordinance, why is it isreals fault? they are not even in the country anymore, and used the munitions for war? i know send them to clean it up, and have Hezbollah radicals kill more isrealis? go figure its easy to blame isreal, however in this situation it is not their fault |

Because they fired them into civilian areas... they are Israel's bombs, in turn making Israel responsible for thier actions.
Did Israel provide mapping to where they dropped the cluster bombs, to help warn the civilians? Did Israel provide any assistance to civilians in helping them disarm the bombs that they dropped into civilians areas... |

No, that would Israel's fault.... remember the 80's?
this never ended, after Israel invaded & occupied Lebanon. |

lets put it this way if it had happened on our land we would have police, soldiers, and such out there ensuring safety and clean up, we would not invite the enemy back to clean it up, as well as should not be expected, they claim the land let them take care of it - they dont want the land give it to isreal and they will handle it |

yep but who restarted the mess? oh yeah hezbollah ... isreal was trying to be semi peaceful and working on pulling out when low and behold hezbollah kidnapped soldiers, and refused to return them... refused at the threat of war.... so this new issue is theirs and theirs alone |

It's Lebanon's land and they probably don't want unexploded cluster bombs on it. |

Aww, so much money to do the "right" thing, huh. maybe Israel could suck some more USA c*ck to get some more cash...?
No ones asking the "enemy" to come back for the clean up... there are third parties available for that. |

i like you blamed israel for people dying after israel pulled out.
and then your wonerful loaded statement "israel still killing children".
you love when children die, don't you? it gives you more ammunition for your anti-israeli front. you could honestly give a s**t about those children. |
