Funny fact. I grew up in rural S Florida where most people did carry guns at least a Remington 380 or similar item in their truck. Hell, even at school kids kept rifles in their rear window rack.
Now I live in Washington DC and believe it or not with the amount of security people in this city (guards, armed forces, FBI, secret service, US Marshalls, police [DC, NOVA, Capitol] I have never seen so many people walking around with firearms. I think 1 out of 10 in DC are armed. lol for job reasons of course.
I just think its funny how many times I hear on the news " An attempted robbery tonight of a local DC person failed when the would be attackers were shot at after trying to rob an off duty secret service agent" |

Well its mostly just from what I see on a day to day basis..but the news stories Sure, I mean we all trust the media right?
Quote: Since 1976, it's been illegal in Washington, DC to own any handguns or to keep any type of gun in your home unlocked and fully assembled. However, Washington, DC is the "murder capital of the United States."
Quote: WASHINGTON -- Two men who were found shot in Southeast Washington Tuesday afternoon were apparently shot by an off-duty Secret Service officer, whom they apparently tried to rob.
Investigators said the incident started in Oxon Hill, Md., as the officer walked to his fiancee's home.
Police said the officer was approached by two armed men who tried to rob the officer. Instead, the officer pulled out his own gun and shot at the men, hitting both.
