The only reason I don't kill people now is that it would require far too much effort to get away with it-- and there'd still be a chance that I wouldn't.
The more power I'm given, the more I will exercise it in order to accomplish my goals. |

I believe in the goodness (or at the very least, the ambiguity) of humanity.
Killing doesn't sit well with me. |

Ha, this thread makes me laugh. Who answered no? No killing? People would just live (and, presumably, age) forever? How would you eventually deal with that population crisis?
Death is a part of life. Frankly, I've seen how my grandfather was at 85. I can't imagine the pain that he would have been in at 750. As a deity operating under our current world, of course I would have to kill people at some point. |

Well if you were god you could just make the earth a work in progress and just keep building onto the planet....And you could just make all pain and hunger go away as well as disease's...
If I was god I would just blow up the whole planet...Obviously this must be a left behind failed experiment...No all powerful god would of messed up this bad... |

Okay, well if we're talking about giving humanity an age limit...then absolutely. |

I'm pretty much in the same boat. Some people/civilizations/worlds just need a good killing. |

There is more than enough food to feed everybody on this planet...who's fault is it that the food is not being distributed properly and fairly to those who need it? That's right: it's our fault. Dont blame our misuse of free will to disproportionately disperse food on God.
Make pain go away? That is silly and immature. If there were no suffering, how may we know and fully appreciate happiness? Pain and suffering is what builds our souls and makes us better people in the long run and teaches us the right way to look at life. |

Hmmm. Why would he make a planet that half of it we are unable to survive on? Pain and suffering builds our souls? HA!!! Tell that to all the people that are suffering right now and praying to Mr. Worthless to make the pain go away... |

Quote: Death is a part of life. firstly, apparently not a part of God's life. Secondly, you can only state this empiracly.

Quote: Make pain go away? That is silly and immature. If there were no suffering, how may we know and fully appreciate happiness? a good question. But it does not deal with death

No, but it certainly helps us not need help in the long run. |

The world is simply the way it is. Getting mad and shaking your fist at God isn't going to do anything about it but make our short stay here even worse.
IMHO. |

Interestingly enough, the result of this type of attitude is mentioned in Psalm 2.

On the other hand, getting mad and going outside and doing something about it is the process by which every single step of human social progress has been made.
Maybe God just ain't helping you because he's waiting for you to show some initiative. |
