I think its more that there are already four pages worth of posts of what anti-gunners and pro-gunners think of arming teachers, complete with a poll, already in the news section.

| As long as the teachers want to carry and have the training then I have no problem with it at all. |

This is all much ado about nothing; students are more likely to die from sports accidents than they are gunfire.
However, if it leads to a significant number of armed teachers, and a subsequent increase in the acceptance of publically armed civilians, I can only say that it's a good thing. Plus, as a teacher-in-training, this allows me to hope that I might not be forced to disarm for the majority of my professional life. |

And it's impossible for a teacher to turn crazy and want to shoot everyone -- thats just fact. |

Well, it hasn't happened. A teacher is a person in a school (besides the principal) that has the easiest ways to smuggle weapons/bombs/homemade poisonous gas into a school. It hasn't happened. In the 45 school shootings worldwide in the last ten years (according to linked website, interestingly the Russian Beslan school shootings weren't in the list), not one has been done by a crazy teacher. Yes, it's a possibility, but it's even less likely than the extremely rare school shootings.

And how many teachers have done that? History is a guide to future occurances. |

Not impossible, but are there any sources from where that has happened? |
