I don't think many 3rd graders know what laps are, and further banning of such fun sports takes the fun out of recess. It's even more ironic that people complain about childhood obesity as a problem, and then take recess away, thus creating more of that problem?
These lawsuit-happy parents have no spine at all.
Anyway, my main point is if you take away recess you take away a kid's childhood and retardify the kids. |

| Banning tag because you might fall down? I can see banning wrestling or something, but tag is pretty harmless. Maybe they should ban pencils because you might have your eye poked out? Pencils are far more dangerous than tag, in my opinion. |

They should ban chalk, too, because you might inhale the chalk dust and choke to death. Or how about water fountains, since you could actually drown, or what about library books because you might drop one on your foot  |

| And how easy would it be to kill someone with a padlock, especially a third-grader? Pretty easy. Much easier than dying playing tag. |

Well in some places, school sports can't be played because parents fear the kids will know that there are winners and losers in life, which is just as bad.
You know what we should do to correct this? We should ban stupid parents and other people who come up with shi**y ideas like that. |

Quote: Recess is "a time when accidents can happen," said Willett Elementary School Principal Gaylene Heppe, who approved the ban.
That is my favorite part. EVERYTIME is a time when accidents can happen, genius. That is practically the definition of accident.
Main Entry: ac·ci·dent
Pronunciation: 'ak-s&-d&nt, -"dent; 'aks-d&nt
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French, from Latin accident-, accidens nonessential quality, chance, from present participle of accidere to happen, from ad- + cadere to fall -- more at CHANCE
1 a : an unforeseen and unplanned event or circumstance b : lack of intention or necessity : CHANCE <met by accident rather than by design> |

See, PC s**t like this robs you of your common sense. How did this guy become a principal in the first place? He should be fired. |

There is no "tag" in the office, so you might as well get kids used to the fact that they will forever be micromanaged and have to answer to a higher authority when they're young. I never understood the purpose of recess anyway. Its sorta cruel to allow someone a bunch of free time to run around when take that free time away once they reach 6th grade (or at least thats the way I looked at it). Dodgeball needs to be bannnnnnnnnnnnnnnned! |
