A question for those who delve into alternate theories of absolute government operation and domination:

What's so bad about it?

So?

Government is corrupt, that's common knowledge. What would be so horrible to learn that the government controlled everything absolutely?

They would, being corrupt, act in their best interest, and that would probably not be the same as everyone else's interest. The more control they have the harder it is for the people to exercise their right to overthrow corrupt governments.

There's nothing wrong with it, because it's already in effect, to a certain degree, and the world isn't even half as f*cked up as the conspiracy nuts want you to think.

I'm not sure I understood your question ("You think isn't"?) but yeah of course governments act in their own interest, but the more control they have, the more they will be able to do so and the less the people will be able to stop them. I guess it's kind of like a checks and balances type-thing.

Lincoln started the civil war, Wilson entered the US into WWI, FDR sent the US to WWII, which was ended by Truman who dropped two atomic bombs, yet nobody says anything about any of them. The left started the conspiracy theories so they can take control of the united states, and it looks like their plan is working because of idiots that believe in them.

Wilson, FDR and Truman were some of the greatest criminals to ever occupy the White House.

There, I said something.

So, if we are a policed state, and Bush is this big bad tyrant who has total control, why would he allow all these conspiracy web sites get out? The government can easily disable the internet, control what we watch (ask the FCC) and anything else they want to. It's not Bush, it's the far-left that's feeding these conspiracies to people, and it's all because the democrats want unquestioned domination of the white house.

Because he's too busy building the Trans-Texas Corridor right now..

Take a glance out your window..

I'm no Democrat.

I hate democracy altogether.. whether it refers to the political party by that name, or whether it refers to the Grecian political theory.

I don't think very highly of Wilson, FDR or Truman either, per your earlier post.

No, the government can't "easily" disable the Internet..

The government's purpose (in this country) is to keep commerce and finance moving and flowing. There's a collossal amount of commerce + finance that flows over the Internet now.. everything from e-commerce, online advertising, online financial services, online communications technology (VOIP, etc).

They can't just "turn off" the Internet, even if they wanted to.

Perhaps they can control and tax it, but they can't "turn it off"..

If they did, they would betray the only god they serve: the almighty dollar.

I don't think very highly of Wilson, FDR or Truman either, per your earlier post. But it's the democrats who have given these conspiracy theories. You already made clear how you feel about past presidents
