Oh jeez, we got another one....

http://www.foxbaltimore.com/template/inews_wire/wires.regional.md/38bc0347-www.foxbaltimore.com.shtml

Quote: BALTIMORE (AP) -- Police are investigating a shooting outside a west Baltimore high school this afternoon.

It happened just after 5 p-m outside Frederick Douglass High School.

Officer Troy Harris says police received a call about a gunshot at the school. He says officers chased a possible suspect to Mondawmin Mall nearby, but lost him.

Harris says about 15 minutes later, officers were called to the 1900 block of Payson Street, which is less than a mile from the school, for a 14-year-old boy who was shot twice in the back. He says the boy was at the school at the time of the shooting.

The boy was taken to Shock Trauma, but Harris did not have details on his condition.

Once again, we have another school shooting, and again this one is close to home for me. I'm glad no one was killed, but with this adding on to the long list of school-related shootings, I wonder what the hell is going on. Is there some reason all of this is happening within a few days of each other, or is someone behind it all?

Thoughts? Opinions?

My opinion of this so-called trend is not much more than idiots (dangerous ones all be it) that are copy cats and are wanting their 15 minur=tes of fame. I think a great deal of it is kids or people that have mental disorders and are trying desperately to get some recognition. They are getting it but not in the manner they wanted.

Yeah, they catch the attention of bullets. I just know, and fear, that this is going to turn into an anti-gun thing.

Surely the gun free zone would have vaporized the gun.

Surely guns could not have had anything to do with deaths in the first place as they are simply inanimate objects like vases or tea cups.

Pretty much. You can kill with all kinds of things, it's the person, not the object that kills. When a crime is commited with a firearm, is it the gun, or the person that goes to trial?

Missiles: where do you stand? With the other pro-gun hypocrites on this forum or do you think Joe Smith should be allowed to keep one in his garage?

How do you compare a missile to a firearm?

Its not about whether or not I compare them. Gun-nuts around here love to quote the constituion - especially the part about how the right to bear arms shall not be infringed.
Now, by all standard definitions missiles fall under the category of arms, yet despite this the majority of gun-nuts here say that they draw the line at missiles, and that missiles are dangerous and were never intended to be protected under the second amendment. In short, they seek to protect their right to own the kind of arms they want, but not any other kind.

So many of you anti gun nuts want to take away our freedoms and in that you are wrong to attempt.
Then you want to take away guns...why?

The guns are not what kill people, it is people. By having laws in place (as we do) we are stopping bad guys from getting guns. The problem is not guns, it is the lax criminal justice system in enforcing those laws that we want to have on the books.

Oh yea...Blinky, your usual sarcasm makes you look like this guy:

Think about it okay....you would do better to not let your mouth overide your common sense and logic :-D

You've gone up a knotch in my book Kamel because you, at least, are consistent in your stance on weapons and I respect that.

Lilwolf, are you over-tired or something? Your post is very poorly worded and isn't as clear as I've come to expect from you. Get some sleep and try again tomorrow, maybe.

Which should be vaporized by the gun free zone. Surely forcing everyone to be defensless should work. Criminals should pass up and banks and rob a gun shows.

Nope not all blinky, My wording said exactly what was needed said. You do however have a tendancy to let your mouth overide your common sense and logic.... Not a personal attack but a blunt fact.
I figure with your sarcasm being more blatant tonight than usual, I figure you are indeed having a bad day. So, go have a cup of tea and cool your jets for awhile. Perhaps a night off for you and a good rest and you will not be so arrogant in your choice of words. \/
