Why is it that gunmen who go on killing rampages always attack places like schools, fast food joints, and post offices, and not places like, say, police stations, military bases, airports, harbors, and buildings owned by the NRA?

Because they don't want to get shot.

Because one of them provides easy targets to kill, and the other provides difficult targets to kill.

By the way, how many buildings does the NRA own and where are they?

Rampaging through a school is easier because they know that no one will be armed with any weapons and they'll make easy kills.

Rampaging thorugh a police station or a military base would be suicide for them because the majority of people there would be armed, and I'm sure 20 cops with pistols could take down one gunman.

No idea, but I'm sure they have buildings somewhere.

OK, so: Places with guns get shot. Places without guns don't get shot.

Wouldn't that therefore logically imply that allowing regular citizens to have guns, wherever they want, would make everywhere safer?

That doesn't mean everyone has a gun on them every minute of every day, granted they own one.

Gun free zones.

Anybody hear of a shooting at the gun show? I certainly haven't.

I remember reading in a really old issue of Guns and Ammo (when it was still good) about some guy who tried to rob a gun store. There were several people inside who were armed (right-to-carry State), including some who were visibly so, drinking coffee and talking, as well as a cop who was doing the same, his patrol car being parked out front. The robber fired a round into the cieling with an M-1 Carbine saying he was robbing the place, and was subsequently felled by bullets from five different people, including the store's owner. The store got to keep the carbine.

I think it was about 5 years back here in Idaho that a would be armed robber charged into an indoor shooting range hopped up on drugs and opened fire. He was hit 26 times by customers. I think he was wearing a sign that read, "I'm a dumb s*** today."
