Quote: Chamberlain holds the paper containing the resolution to commit to peaceful methods signed by both Hitler and himself on his return from Germany at Croydon Airport in September 1938. He said:
My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time.
What was given to Germany? Well land that was according to them, "their land".
Hey if they got this land they would halt their military actions. This seems very much what the Palestinians are saying. Nevermind that both Hitler and the Islamic extremists have the some goal and both are saying the same things to this very day.
Appeasment doesn't have the track record that everyone seems to think that supports Palestine. |

| appeasement in the middle east has a proven track record of not only not working, but causing more violence. Giving more and more land to people who have a "phased plan" for the destruction of Israel which involves using terrorism to get more and more land. Seems like a bad idea. |

| Not only that but wanting the land that Israel holds isn't about getting the "stolen" land back. It's about the Islamic desire to wipe out the Jews and destroy the evil powers of the United States and the UK. |

A very interesting perspective and valid parallel.
One slight difference, yet so significant: The Germans, beyond any doubt were capable of running a state, and prospering. The same can not be said about the Palestinians. |

Thats a massively unfair and pretty silly comparison:
1) The Germans had forfeited alot of the land forming their empire following the first world war (Sudetenland etc). The treaty of Versailles was put in place to limit their military and economic capacity, which backfired causing the rise of the Nazi's. The result of WW1 essentially gave rise to the forces behind WW2. I fail to see the comparison.
2) The Germans already had a nation state, with the capacity to mass produce armaments allowing them the military clout to annex Austria and other lands without fear of immediate recrimination. Where is this capacity in the Palestinian Authority?
3) I very much doubt that the Palestinians are interested in the creation of a greater Germany. What they might be interested in is the creation of a Palestinian state so they can finally start building towards the future.
4) It's BS to say that anyone who is in favour of the creation of a Palestinian state is a appeaser. I have repeatedly stated that the IDF has every right to protect Israeli citizens. Also, as far as I recall, the two countries least guilty of appeasement in WW2 were Britain and France.
I'm getting a bit sick of this lowest common denominator "You're the bigger Nazi" BS so either drop it or back it up properly. |

You are getting your panties all bunched up. Nobody called anybody a Nazi, bigger or smaller. The thrust of the post was that giving land to people just because they claim it is their land does not necessarily solve the issue.
What you doubt has no relevance at all, whether the Palestinians want a "greater Germany" or not. One thing is for certain they have not demonstrated any capacity to "start building towards the future." |

Whatever the point of the post it's a massively innacurate comparison to make.

Fair enough they did elect possibly the worse party in terms of moving a dialogue with Israel forward, but if it's a choice between a party who have been in power for 40 odd years, repeatedly failed to move forward and were inherently corrupt and a party who have provided health and social care for the people it's not that easy a choice. |
