FOX News- "North Korea Plans to Conduct Nuclear Test"

DRPK plans to test its nuclear weapons and like I said before it will raise concerns and tensions in the area (which is also outlined in the article).

We must do something to stop or slow the spread of nuclear weapons.

Tell me your thoughts

They are a dangerous bunch...for damn sure. The little looney there is about as nuts as they come. I figure that if enough pressure is put on them and china then china could (hopefully) put the leash on their little mongrel dog and tie him down.
I noticed that china had no response. I figure that SK and Japan will not tolerate it long.

I also hope that with enough pressure NK will stop, although doubtful.

If ont and they become to aggressive I would suggest a shot across the bow, and remove one of their plants or several of their missles. We got the tech to do it, so if need be why not.

Then if they were so stupid to cross the line.....remove it all,as a last resort.

I hope everyone in the world is enjoying this 'lull before the storm'. Make every minute count. Spend as much time with your loved ones as you can while you can. Soak in as much peace and quite as you can.
As I see it the entire world is moving towards an armagedon. I'm not remotetely religious. I'm just trying to see the big picture. The coming events which will turn the world upside down are not sort of creeping along so we can see them coming like watching the second hand of a clock. The way it will happen is more likely to be sudden and unexpected. A dirty bomb in a ship container in New York Harbor. NK invading SK. China invading Twiawan. Israel being invaded. The West removing Irans nuclear program. (You can count on that). One event will trigger others and on and on. We all will wake up one morning to find the entire world in chaos and war and that will be that. Those with the biggest weapons and military will find themselves having to use them. This will destroy the world as we know it and there will never be the peace as we know it again. After many years of war the world will be dominated by one victor and that victor will shape the it wants the world to be for better or worse.
As I type this a Greek airliners is being highjaked. Will the highjakers fly the plane into the US embassy? Who knows. The fact is we are living in dangerous unpredictable times and anything can set off catastrophic events.
If NK tests a nuke expect grave reactions from the West.

I agree.... perhaps Mr. George Carlin said it right. He said "maybe mother nature is sick and tired of us, and is gonna shake us off like a bad case of fleas. " I would agree that if they do it...there is going to be some rather unpleasant reaction from a whole lot of different nations.

Why don't you start by telling us what your plan would be to stop NK from having nukes?

1) Because their development facilities are underground and bombing won't take them down.

2) That would probably cause a retaliation from China

3) The "little looney" running NK woud fire conventional weapons on South Korea if we attacked and even the most conservative estimates say he could kill ten million people in a single day using conventional artillery and missiles.

Tat-nukes would be a road less traveled and for a reason...

As I see it we are living in a black and white world their is no longer a grey 'neutral' haze that nations can hide in, President Bush and the Taliban have set strict lines that say you are with use and do as us or you are with them and do as them. Take France for example here in Collin County (Conservative stronghold of North Texas) the people still talk lowly of the French and recently as we all should remember the chaos and panic that insued as Muslims revolted and rioted in the streets after figuring out that they were a large minority in France, if war was to insue over this particular situation nations like that would be torn in half.

Overall no peace will not come through peace but through war...

All it's going to take is one incident to set off catastrophic world changing series of responses that will within a few days then change everything.
NK is most likely to start it all. The popualation in NK genuinely believe Kim is an actuall God. This is a fact. It's like having a population of Moonies. What we in the West don't understand is if Kim tells his pop. of brain dead followers the West is starving and they are going to invade so they can eat all the NK babies the 'followers' will truly believe it. No kidding.
At some point Kim believes has to prove something to the Pop. He can't just sit around drinking champagne and watching Disney movies and fondling eight year old girls forever. His ego will demand he does something 'big' sooner or later. That 'big' thing is to test nuclear weapons at this point. If the West doesn't do something 'big' in reponse he will start screwing around on the DNC and trying to start a fight with the SK and US forces.
What Kim doesn't understand is there is a real line he will not be able to cross without the West confronting him.
When that happens there will be millions of Kims 'followers' who will gleefully die for Kim. To them that would be the highest priveledge they could ever have.
Those millions, who are basically starving to death, will be more than happy to head for SK if Kim says "go into the South, which is your righful land, and you can live there and have all the food you want". This is going to happen folks and when it does it's the beginning of the end of the world as we know it.

I think its a great idea to test nucs in North Korea....We should test a few of our own over there..... :shock:

We have to make sure our bombs still work especially since we haven't tested one for at least 30 years or more...

Also note to self make sure NY rats didn't eat the Mannhatten Project...

North Korea is the most surreal political state/situation in the world. It's also the most dangerous. There's two options in my opinion. First is to place drastic sanctions on them that would cripple their country. They would have to be so severe that it would make China and Russia reluctant to help them. Second, is simply to wipe them out. There's is no conventional military option with NK. They have a hardcore military and there's no way we would take them on even if we weren't in Iraq or Afghanistan. We could beat them but the losses would be enormous and that's assuming they wouldn't use nukes against us, which no one is going to risk anyway so a conventional attack would not happen.

Perhaps we should encourage them to test along their western border. I'm sure China would be more than happy to remind them why they shouldn't have Nuclear weapons.

Some of you are mad. You think by America making any sort of military response to N Korea's alleged nuclear arsenal, that this would somehow end the situation. All that would do is provoke China into becoming involved and do any of you really want to mess with China!!
