| I may not like satanists. They're views are backward and hypocritical and they think the lord of evil and darkness will be cool to them when they die... I don't like 'em but they deserve the same rights as every one else. When I have my own country they won't be alowed but for now they're fine. |

God versus hod. This is going to be rough. Considering all that religion (white magic) has stolen from Satanism (black magic), some of which, like hokus pokus (Hoc es Corpus) magic has stolen back, I would say it is fair to have it fair, just, and legal.
To me the object of philosophy and religion should be the same: To live in such a manor that justice and peace reigns among men so that we are fit for heaven if that is our destination, and to live a good life as good men if that is not. Satanism is no less than religion in the distance men place between themselves and god, which is slight. Both accept anthropomorphism, and believe their respective Gods are susceptible to the bribes of sacrifice. To me, God would not be God if he/she/it/them could be comprehended, controlled, or understood as rational. Why should we expect God, with ultimate power to act rationally if people, nations and countries with extremely limited power cannot manage rationality. I do not belittle my god with burnt offerings, and tinkling bells (another concession to magic). I do not evict God nor Satan to outside of my own skin. Rather, I try to come to terms with the limbic qualities within these psychological representations of purely human motivations. We feel powerless. We seek power. For those without the courage to seek mastery over self, or over automaton, there are prayers and offering to deity. |

| Satanism is stupid, and Satanists should certainly not be allowed to abuse children or murder people or anything else illegal and claim that they are allowed because of their religion. But they should certainly be allowed to glorify their god in any non-harmeful way they wish, just as those of other religions are. |

Many seem to forget that satanists do not worship satan, they worship the iconography. They believe in self-gratification and they believe that this is what satan stands for. They dont believe in a physical satan but in the idea of.
Note I am not a satanist...
Ask, for whether or not they should be allowed, of course! Like most, satanism is a religion and should be respected no matter how outrageous their beliefs. |

| There is hardly a religion in existence that deserves any respect, least of which the monotheisms. However, they all deserve the right to exist, satanism included. |

1st ammendment rights, of course.
Not that they get any respect... I mean NAMBLA is allowed to say their piece, but I don't listen to them either. |

I personally do not agree with anything Satanists stand for, but if what I do stand for is legal, so should what I do not stand for. Under the 1st amendment, it's all a matter of give and take; we all must share the right to expression.

| Sure it should be allowed. It makes little sense and I don't know why anoyone would want to be a Satanist, but if they want ot be then whatever. |

hmm..I thought that the topic was kind of dumb...and I too cannot belive ppl actually answered no!
But your question is very complicated...because actual satanism is very odd, to say the least. It is not always bad to do what you feel would make you feel good, but it is not always good. I think that they should be allowed to gratify themselves however they want, unless it hurts someone else...because their freedom ends where mine begins. I think that the religion is far to solipsist, which flaws it...but nonetheless is is a religion, and should be expected. |

although i don't approve of it, we have no right to tell satanists what they do is wrong. they have freedom of religion the same as any of us do and we can't abolish that right simply because we think what they do is "barbaric."
if i remember correctly, satanists sacrifice things (i think young children, i don't know, thats what i've heard). in any case, we are not able to criminalize them because it is part of their religion and the government has know right to tell them what they believe is wrong. actually, now that i think about it, one of the satanist commandments is not to harm an innocent child, so i guess it is just animals. ya. that would make more sense. |

As long as they practice their religion/culture responsibly (not harming anyone or preventing anyone else from practicing their own religion/culture), than it's fine.

| Silly in their belief, hilarious in their mockery, but quite an expected perversion from Christianity. |
