you are right prior to katrina it went to other means of which i havent researched yet but it did not go to faulty levees, or a means to fix their issues
Quote: Second, when something is a fact...it's usually backed up by evidence. You seem to wish me to just take your word for it...and you assign specific blame instead of adopting the notion that possibly, just maybe, everybody had a hand in this.
show me how it is not la gov's fault that the travisty happened? show me how the fed gov has any fault in this?
Quote: Third, are you arguing that the Federal Government not be involved in this process at all? That it be completely the states responsibility to respond and respond alone?
no i did not argue that i argued that la gov need to "man-up" take responcibility and fix the situation. a football stadium is not more important than people....yes maybe revenue is part, but now the citizens are expected to go to a fooball game over fixing their house? and yes tourism is good, but how much topurism you get from a football game? not year round, or overly great compared to other aspects of la. they put their revenue in the wrong spot again, and now are expecting the fed gov to bail them out again. when will the incompetant la gov learn? dont know but hope its soon or they get reelected to end this problem |

And that's called "projection". Look it up.
Don't need to. I am sure that my vocabulary is superior to someone who shows the reading comprehension of a functionally retarded two year old.
Quote: Simple. The EXACT cast of clowns who are bashing Nagin for what they think is a bad decision are the same people who worship Bush. The point is: hypocrisy doesn't fly with me.
Is Bush the one that built the stadium? How is it hypocrisy then? Also, please point me to where I said that I supported Bush.

You don't know any more about what the best course for NO is than a chipmunk knows about brain surgery. You accused me of talking out of my ass because I could not PROVE to your satisfaction that the Dome would be a positive long term revenue source... which means you expect me to predict the future.
No need for the personal attacks, but I will attempt to figure out what you are saying. Nowhere did I tell you to prove a future event. I told you to prove that building a stadium would be more beneficial than spending the money on something else. Once again, you show the reading comprehension of a functionally retarded two year old.
Quote: Yet, you throw out completely unsubstantiated garbage like:
"You don't build a city by making tourist attractions. "
Guess what: Las Vegas built a city with only one "tourist attraction"...GAMBLING. Good thing they didn't know you had already said it was impossible, right?
So I guess Disney World is a city, isn't it? I mean, there are no residents, but there are lots of pretty attractions.
Quote: Speaking of blowing it out of your ass, another completely unsibstantiated claim:
"You build a city by attracting residents, then making tourist attractions to aid the economy. "
FYI, NO's biggest need right now is to re-establish itself as a city with the kind of enjoyable diversions it used to have... french quarter tourist traps and also the sports centers.
Who is going to attend these events and frequent these attractions? You need residents in a city to support the businesses. I guess it might be the tourists who came to see the destroyed houses and furniture on the street, though.
Quote: It amazes me you accuse me of talking out of my ass when you know less about New Orleans than FEMA does.
Sorry, I forgot that you had such an extensive knowledge about New Orleans, seeing how much time you spent there in the past. How much time have you spent there? |

Why is New Orleans so important?
Cause Da Saints are 5-1 dats why!
Back to reality, look at the flood that hit Des Moines in the 1990s, maybe not as big as NO, but levees broke and the city was devistated. It was not turned into a racist thing and it took FEMA days to get there and respond. |
