registry pretty touchy area....many "registry" scanners can't do much to fix an existing problem....do you have a restore point to go back to??

I use CCleaner....with caution, for some stuff

I wouldn't use any "free" products on a registry. Buy something professional. Be sure to back it up every month or so, so you can go back if one gets corrupted.

Norton Utilities is nice and has a one button total system scan which includes a registry fixer, it always kept XP running smooth for me, but it is a rather hefty piece of software as far as resources are concerned.

Whenever I FUBAR'd my registry I just nuked the drive and did a fresh install. Sometimes I'd mess with it just enough to break something to give myself an excuse to do a fresh install. I'm a fresh format and install junkie attributed to my obsessive compulsive nature.

Ccleaner is good, though usually if you are having registry "problems" the easiest way to fix it is just to reinstall.

Ccleaner is a must have.
