| It really has been a waste of your time, yes. However, abusive PMs are in and ofthemselves against the rules and I have no problem banning people for abusing our PM system. :twisted: |

Can Moderators Ban, or only Admins with the phpBB software? I remember talking to a mod one time about someone, who told me they were incapable of banning people because they were only a mod, and we would have to take it to one of the admins. I was told they could move/lock/edit, and things like this, but not ban. Is that true? Not trying to piss on your shoes here, or be an ass, I'm just genuinely curious, and really don’t know. |

Used to be mods could not ban. But I believe since there have been a few instances of massive spam sessions (remember tubgirl...? *shudder* ) the Admins gave the deactivating capability to the mods for emergency type situations like those.
So yes, mods can deactivate a persons account and they are ALSO held accountable for doing so. So it's not something that is taken lightly. |

While this forum may have a different set up, I'm a Mod in another that uses phpBB software and I have the ability to ban someone there. I'm guessing it's an option the Admins can allow their Mods if they so choose to. |
