I'm posting this topic in each different religious forum, but with regard to each religion.

I'd thought I could just post it in the general religious forum, but I wanted a specific answer from each Abrahamic religious group. I'm also writing a series of specific thought-provoking questions for each.

I don't just mean alien bacteria, but sentient life.

So, how would sentient extraterrestrial life affect Judaism?

1. Would it affect your faith in your Judaism?

2. Does the Tanakh and Talmud apply to others outside of Earth? I.E., could aliens convert to Judaism? Should aliens have to adhere to the Noahide laws? Should the Jewish people have any contact with aliens at all?

3. What if aliens are unisexual or have unorthodox familial orientations? How should inter-special relations and marriage, and even moral judgements of alien relations be interpreted?

Depends on the kind of aliens. If they are kosher, probably not. If they look like pigs and oink, I'd probably be concerned.

Could they convert to Judaism? Hmm. Well, as long as they have a ahem, a penis, to circumcise, I am sure we could work something out....

Before or after the circumcision?

Why? I absolutely love it. I work 12 hours a day (as of recently). Shabbat is the biggest blessing in life. It's Shabbat. Duchifas's phone is off. Can't reach him. No, he is not coming in to work on Saturday.

It is a beautiful concept. It's a time and space for freedom. It's what separates a man from a slave. Sunday through Friday I feel like a slave, billing every available hour for the firm. Shabbat I feel like a king. I wouldn't give Shabbat away for anything.

How strict are you about it? You're Orthodox, not Reform. So, no electricity and no carrying anything at all?

Closer to Orthodox, yes. No turning on/off electricity. And no carrying from private to public domain. Within either, I can carry.

Well since they are not from the children of Noah, I can't see how they should be obligated to the Noahide laws. They would not be under that covenant. But who knows, maybe G-d made some other covenant with them. But if there was ET life, then it would not affect my faith one bit.
