why not have parents bring their child and force them to vote for who htye want to vote for?
it's too easily corruptable. the same can happen to a 13 year old.

It has been fun debating you today, but I need to go. We could go on forever with this, but I have stuff to do.

| The time referenced in the starter post was a different time.13 year olds then had a much different life experience than they do now.Back then they were expected to do a mans job every day with no complaints,no recesses,no vacations,no television,no video games and no back talk..We're talking can't to can't.If you aren't old enough to know what that means then it means from before daylight to after sunset.Kids today are pampered especially compared to those times. |

cause 13 year olds are really, really dumb.......
They are dumb because there is no challenge for them to rise to. Unless, of course, you think 13 year olds now are just genetically dumber
oh i do.
im more than willing to believe selective breeding combined with medical advances and laws has made it easier for weak idiots to reproduce |

So I take it you don't believe in history books that tell these things as well as writers of the era that tell of the way people lived in their times. |

| I'm 14, and i dont think any one under the age of 25-26 should be able to vote(just my opinion from watching most people under that age and even some times above it). I may not like it but after seeing the way people act i think its for the better. O and some one on this thread said that people under 18 should not be able to vote because they might think it was just a joke (or some thing a long those lines), personaly i wouldent vote just as a joke its a huge deal and should be thought through very well before casting your vote, i think i would be able to do this but i have never been able to so who knows =/. Any way thanks for reading |

If you're talking rights, alot of places where I live concider 12 adult, we can't drive or vote but we are concidered an adult. It's probably hard to explain, I'm not even going to fight about it. |

I am gong to give you the same phrase I gave comrade (since you are new, he has always turned a youth rights tread like this and made into a huge debate like the one above.)
WHy should you if you actually believe in in what you are saying:"Im too stupid to be trusted just because of my age" BTW, we are both of the same age.
Now you say that certian minors cannot be trusted with power, but neither can many adults. Not every adult votes, and the adults who are too stupid to vote are usually the ones who don't.
WHy did the colonists revolt in 1776? Taxation without representation sound familiar? And lets see here; minors are taxed, and have laws imposed on them exclusively that they did not have any say in.
They are taxed, and they have no reperesentation. (department of homeland defence disclaimer) |

green, considering the garbage i see you post, i don't want you in charge of something that could possibly effect me.
teenagers, from a sociological standpoint, are complete retards and completely irresponsible. |

Im a highschool debater, and rebuttles can make no sence, but they must be correct enough for the judge. |

hmm...evidence...i go to highschool is one very damning piece of evidence.
and i don't give a s**t about your examples, because it doesn't speak from a sociological view, but from a psychological view. |

i'm fairly responsible, and have a fair head on my shoulders.
and this is a psychological view, which i don't care about. |

They are taxed, and they have no reperesentation. (department of homeland defence disclaimer) I'm not against youth rights although I don't think many of the kids I know at school shouldn't be on the road or voting. Just because most of them would be influenced by something as dumb as their favorite football team. Alcohol consumption is way different though because of health reasons, if I was to drink a massive bottle of alcohol at my age (not only would I get drunk and do something stupid) I would probably die or get a serious liver condition. Although just to let you know where I live we don't have taxes when we're a kid. But I do understand where you're coming from, other places children are taxed and should have the privileges as adults, but we don't pay even a fourth as to what the adults pay for taxes. |
