I just reinstalled windows because I kinda completely destroyed my boot sector with Ubuntu (again...) and have had enough of it (again...). I tried to install Gaim because I've come to prefer it over MSN messenger and Yahoo, but when I try and log in on ether service, once it starts getting cookies the program performs an illegal operation. Does anyone know of some new feature for gaim that might be causing this?

If you had installed Ubuntu's boot loader and it screwed up the XP one you could use the XP install disk to reinstall the XP boot loader. This normally fixes problems like that for me.

As for GAIM. Nope, no idea.

I tried doing that (followed the instructions and everything) and still screwed it up. I have several hard drives laying around, so I think I'll just buy a $25 mounting tray plus a few racks. It's just easier.

I had two computers and a KVM, but have since dumped Windows all together. So now I have a server I'm too lazy to get to at the moment. :)
