hows that for you politically correct morons, a white guy who better fits the "african-american" description than the thousands of black people in our nation
he is dutch by race, was born in s. africa, and moved to america, becoming a naturalized citizen
seriously, what kind of moron came up with that description for black people, what is wrong with calling them black, we are called whites
i demand to be called a germanic-american, even though i have only spent 10 hours total in germany (it looked like an airport...)
we need to kill this thing before it gets out of hand and destroys us all |

| My best friend is black and many of my other friends are black as well. I've never yet heard one of them demand to be called "African-American". I don't think it's someting that most people care about at all. |

I don't think it's someting that most people care about at all. It is just the current code word for the politically corect. Trust me, I work in a field full of political correctness and they even put out memos on what current terminology should be in regards to the retarded individuals I work with. Those who steep themselves in political correctness actually think that their concept of apropriate words and names some how make this world a better place. |

| Not to mention many black people don't even originate from Africa. |

| indeed. i am not of African-American descent but perhaps someone who doesn't know me would say i am. technically i would be called Mixed Race or Mulatto (hate that word..) but my mother, i'm sure would be called an African-American by any person randomly walking down the street.. only problem would be that her father is from Grenada and her mother from Trinidad & Tobago. *shrug* someday we may get past all of that "<insert here>-American". hehe.. this country tries to pride itself on being the most ethnically diverse however we call so much attention to it that we wonder why there is so much racial tension. people in the UK do not call themselves or others African-British (or... if they do i have not heard that). the whole system creates more problems than it solves. |
