50% English, 25% German, 25% French.
I read a article in the paper that was about studies that suggest every European has noble blood in them besides a few oddballs. It also mentioned a study that claimed that through a Spanish bloodline Mohamad, founder of Islam shares blood with 90% of Europeans. To me it seemed a little hard to believe but if you think all the European nobles throughout time and all those kids for a thousand years. Although having noble blood doesn't really mean anything... I think for most people that track then family back to the old world there is usually some story about some noble that ran off with the family jewels.
Do any of you identify more with the people you are more closely related to. Never thought about it till now but i never identify with the Germans or french besides broadly as I would with any European. It might be because the English-American culture link though.
P.S. I though it was weird that my spell checker told me to capitalize German and English but didn't tell me to capitalize french. Does WordPerfect hate the french lol. |

France is an enemy of the USA and no matter what our treaties say, 90% + of Americans would support a war of conquest on France. WP is an American program. I doubt that has anything to do with it, probably just a glitch, but you never know. |

Never really thought about it... but no. I tend to identify along my personal nationalism than the nationalism of those before me. I'm an American, and I identify with other Americans. |

Yeah, while we're at it we'll give them our Constitution; considering that our government was based partly off the French model (as advocated by Thomas Jefferson and the Anti-Federalists), we're not using it anyway. :roll: |

yeah most americans are BUT considering that about 11% of your population foreign-born then maybe around 18% overall are 1st or 2nd generation Americans who r more likely to have single ancestry. |

when did the immigrants arrive and what surname do u have?
