What you just said is a lie. No, no lie there.

The entire world used to believe that the Earth was flat. But, was public opinion right? Nope.
98% of Americans do not believe that Bush is a robot being controlled by Castro.

You lied when you stated that.

At least you admit now that your view (i.e., the official government lie) is now the viewpoint held by the minority of Americans. Such an admission is better than nothing, I suppose.
There, I have highlighted the word that you seem to have skipped over. Now, work with me here....reread my sentence and show me where I lied.

I believe that was a humrous exagerration to make a point. Are you a humorless automaton in real life, or do you just play one on the net?
2,800 dead Americans is a laughing matter to you?

That explains a lot about your behavior..

No, 98% of Americans *would* not believe that Bush is a robot being controlled by Castro.

You still lied.

Don't try to back out of it now.

It's not even a hypothetical example.

You might just as well say hypothetically George Washington had a magical spaceplane he used to take trips to the Moon and back.

You're just stringing words together in an absurd and stupid manner, and trying to pass that off as "logical", coherent debate.

No, even though the American people are massively dumbed down, 98% of them are *never* going to believe that Bush is a robot being controlled by Castro. If you believe this is even a HYPOTHETICAL possibillity, I recommend you check yourself into the nearest mental hospital, for your safety as much as anyone elses...

Seriously.

Seriously. My statement was a hypothetical situation...an intentional exageration if you will...to make a point. A point that, obviously, you are either unwilling or unable to comprehend.

I know, you don't like it when your wrong. But, in this case, you are drastically wrong. I have not lied, and your insinuation otherwise is horribly inappropriate.

Sorry. You lied. Again. (and again and again and again and again and again but I digress). Enoch said 98% could and thus set up a hypothetical situation to demonstrate that a majority belief in a lie doesn't make the lie the truth. You claimed he lied. You CANNOT lie in a hypothetical situation. Hypothetically you could be the smartest person I know. I KNOW for a fact you are nowhere near the smartest person I know, but because I made it a hypothetical statement I didn't lie. I wasn't stating something as a fact, but as a possibility.

Something tells me all this is going right over your head. Very very very very fast. ;-)

You mean the part of my personality that can spot a purposeful exageration for effect rather than being purposely dense? Yes, I am guilty.

You are living proof that someone can make stupid and absurd statements and not be misunderstood.

Anyone with an elementary level of understanding of the English language would have seen the word "could" and understood he was not making a statement of fact. His point was good and valid and his use of a hypothetical situation to illustrate your mistaken ideas was, in a word, brilliant.

In the future, don't make stupid and absurd statements, and you won't be misunderstood. So, does that mean you admit that you misunderstood my statement?

If so, I am waiting for an apology for impugning my honesty.

You will get an apology if and when you deserve one.

Know that slaves deserve very little in life, and they certainly do not deserve apologies for anything.

Like I said, stop making stupid and absurd statements, and maybe people won't misunderstand you.

Thanks for building up a strawman and beating him to death, btw.. Great way to avoid the topic.. :tu:

Oh, and stupid and absurd? What is absurd is that you were the only one who didn't seem to understand that it was a hypothetical example.

Your example is stupid and absurd.

The majority of Americans do not believe the government lie about 9/11.. Numbers range from 52% (Zogby) to 57% (on our poll on PCF). You juxtapose this w/ "98% of all Americans might believe that Bush is a robot controlled by Castro".

That's stupid and it's absurd.

And it's completely offtopic as well.

Public opinion polls are indicators of public opinion.

Your point (originally) is about "conspiracy" theories, but my point is that what you believe has been relagated to a "conspiracy" theory that is believed by the minority of Americans. The majority of Americans believe the government story about 9/11 is a fraud.

The majority of Americans believe the government story about 9/11 is a fraud. Either way, it still falls under "conspiracy theory" given the simple fact that (majority or not) people are believing that the government had a "conspiracy" on 9/11.
