Steve Irwin's death was tragic. However, my grief was dampened when someone thought that by saying his job was risky, I was saying Irwin was an idiot and I was spitting in Australia's face.

Can't these deaths be apolitical anymore?

If Steve Irwin had been an American, I think a more apt ridecule of a possible response would be "What? Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray in a coral reef? Well, first lets destroy and occupy that reef, then let's attack a school of sharks before we are finished. Everyone knows Sharks and Stingrays are close allies and besides, the Sharks have sharp teeth and might bite another American."

Actually, it is rather funny when you consider that there are much more simple ways to wipe out troublesome wildlife.
